We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the nations of the United States and Iran, and all those affected by the specter of war. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:14, "Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it." We join together in fervent prayer, seeking God’s divine intervention for peace, wisdom for leaders, and comfort for those who are suffering.
Father in Heaven, we ask for Your mercy to rest upon the soldiers who are enduring the hardships of conflict. Protect them, Lord, as they serve, and surround them with Your angels. We pray for their physical safety, emotional strength, and spiritual resilience. May they feel Your presence in the midst of chaos, and may they be reminded of Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
We also lift up the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones in this conflict. Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your arms of comfort around them, binding up their broken hearts. May they find solace in Your Word, as it says in Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." We pray for the fatherless, the widows, and the orphans, that You would be their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace. Fulfill Your promise in Psalm 68:5, where You declare, "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation."
Lord, we recognize that true peace can only come through You. We ask that You would soften the hearts of leaders and decision-makers, guiding them toward paths of reconciliation and understanding. Let Your wisdom prevail, as it is written in James 3:17, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."
We also take this moment to rebuke the spirit of division, hatred, and violence that seeks to destroy lives and nations. In the name of Jesus Christ, we command every force of darkness to flee, for it is written in Colossians 1:20, "and through him to reconcile all things to himself, by him, whether things on the earth, or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross."
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we can be saved. As Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, trusting in Your power to bring healing, hope, and peace to this broken world.
May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your kingdom come in the hearts of all who are touched by this conflict. We place our trust in You, knowing that You are sovereign over all nations and that Your love conquers all. Amen.
