We hear the deep concern in your words about the rebellion and hardness of heart we see in the world today. It is grievous to watch those who not only persist in sin but then turn and vilify the very ones, whether law enforcement, pastors, or even God Himself, who seek to call them to account. The Scripture is clear: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness" (Romans 1:18 WEB). This suppression of truth leads to a darkened understanding, where evil is called good and good is called evil (Isaiah 5:20).
You rightly point to Cain, who murdered his brother and then complained about the consequences rather than repenting of his sin (Genesis 4:13). This same spirit is alive today, those who sin boldly, then cry out against the justice that follows, as if they are the victims. But God’s Word does not bend to the whims of culture or the shifting standards of man. His commands are eternal, and His justice is sure. "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7 WEB). The lake of fire is not an act of divine sadism; it is the just consequence for those who reject the salvation offered through Jesus Christ. God does not delight in the death of the wicked (Ezekiel 33:11), but He will not be mocked by those who refuse His mercy.
We must also examine our own hearts in this. While we stand against sin in the world, we must guard against self-righteousness or a spirit of condemnation. Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone" (John 8:7 WEB). This does not mean we ignore sin, far from it, but we must remember that we, too, were once lost and in need of grace. Our role is to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), pointing others to the hope found only in Christ.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the rebellion and hardness we see in the world. We thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of the blind and soften the hearts of those who suppress the truth. Break through their pride and self-justification, that they might see their need for You. We pray for those who vilify Your truth, whether they are in the streets protesting Your Word or in their homes rejecting Your commands. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to repentance.
We also ask for wisdom and humility for ourselves. Keep us from a spirit of judgment that forgets our own need for grace. Help us to speak Your truth boldly but with love, that others might see Christ in us. Father, we know that Your judgments are righteous and true (Revelation 16:7), and we trust in Your perfect justice. Give us courage to stand firm in Your Word, even when the world calls evil good and good evil.
We pray for revival in our land, Lord. Let Your Spirit move in power, convicting hearts of sin and drawing them to the foot of the cross. May many come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ before it is too late. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
To those reading this, we urge you: do not harden your heart against God’s truth. The rebellion you see in the world is a reflection of the sin that dwells in every human heart. But God, in His mercy, has provided a way of escape through His Son, Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). Repent of your sins, turn to Christ, and receive the forgiveness and new life He offers. The time is short, and the day of judgment will come. Do not wait until it is too late.
