WAITING

Sometimes, when we pray, we tend to become inpatient, and we may even get angry, that God has not answered our request, in our desired time-frame. When we think about it, from a statistical point of view: What right do we have to rush God? After all, how long has He patiently waited for us to simply acknowledge Him? To acknowledge is to seek His Righteousness in obedience to His commandments, and to testify and give thanks for all that He has already done in our lives. He has done so much. Yet, He is not a subservient being; whose sole purpose is to fulfill our every command, according to our deadlines. “That’s our role.” Let me say that again, “That’s our role.” In order to fulfill our role, we must know our place and responsibility:

WAIT - WATCH - WORSHIP

Waiting isn’t easy, but neither was Calvary.

Heavenly FATHER, the only wise GOD: Omnipotent and Sovereign in every way. How blessed we are that You do not give to us, as our sins deserve. We ask that You teach us to wait patiently for Your answer. And to watch carefully, guarding our hearts against the deceits of the devil. Help us to discern between that which is good and that which is evil; understanding that, though You test us, You will never lead us into any temptation, circumstance, or relationship that causes us to sin. But rather, You have bestowed upon us, Your grace and mercy, which enables us to do that which is most pleasing to You:

WORSHIP in SPIRIT and in TRUTH

In JESUS name, Amen. Thank You LORD.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Isaiah 49:23 “ . . . For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.”

Let me just encourage, those of you who may be enduring criticism from people, whom God did not consult prior to calling you. Not all waiting looks the same; and certainly, not all waiting is understood nor even acceptable in the eyes of man. I think about Elijah – on the surface, it could have seemed as though Elijah, an otherwise, intelligent and able-bodied man, was simply taking advantage of a poor widow and her fatherless child. “BUT GOD,” had commanded him through assignment. For some people, waiting may entail physical labor; while for others, waiting will simply be to worship at His feet. Both are admirable and very necessary forms of waiting in the eyes of God. I have certainly been on both sides of waiting, but, here’s the thing, though some now scream “SLOTHFUL!” in my direction: No one came to me, when I was (basically enslaved) in physical labor, and screamed, “REST!” “BUT GOD,” who sees all things, knows all things, and understands all things (just and unjust), said “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”

God commanded His people to love one another and take care of the poor, until we stop misjudging other people’s journeys: casting them out, demanding their silence, setting up stumbling blocks; and start doing what He commanded us to do, we’re going to see a whole lot more than Charlottesville. You can get mad at me, all you want, for speaking it, and even for for the way I speak it: That won’t change God’s Word.

Whether God currently has you in a place of labor or rest . . . Do what GOD told you to do!!!
