Waiting on an Interview Invitation

Waiting can be one of the hardest things we endure. Days feel like months, and silence can seem like an answer in itself. You are not alone in this tension, and there is deeper mercy at work than what you can see right now.

I have been thinking about the story of Job. He lost nearly everything and waited in agony with no explanation. What he did not know, and what his friends never imagined, was that a far larger story was unfolding in heaven. God was bragging about Job’s steadfast heart, and Satan’s challenge was being proven empty. Job’s waiting wasn’t punishment; it was a trial allowed by a God who knew Job could endure, even when Job himself wasn’t sure he could.

It is easy to slip into the thinking of Job’s friends. They assumed every hardship must sprout from some hidden sin. They advised Job to just get right with God and everything would turn around. That was cruel comfort. Waiting on an interview invitation doesn’t mean God is displeased with you or that you have done something wrong. His favor is not measured in how quickly things come. He may be shielding you from something you cannot foresee, or preparing something better than what you’ve asked for.

Job cried out for a mediator, someone to stand between him and God, to lay a hand on both. In Jesus Christ, that cry is answered. He knows our frame, He understands waiting, and He intercedes even when we have no words left. Lean on Him, not just for the interview, but for peace that the timeline belongs to your Father and not to any hiring committee.

I am praying for you, that the Lord would open the right door at the exact right moment, and that while you wait, your heart would find rest in the God who has never failed His children. You are remembered before the throne.
