We hear the burden and fear in your heart in this time of waiting and uncertainty, and we join together with you before the Lord seeking His will and His peace in Jesus' name.
We want to gently and lovingly address what you have shared, because we care for you and for any precious life that God may have already created. You prayed that if you are pregnant, that God would give that life to someone else who is praying for a baby. We understand that feeling of not being ready, and the compassion you feel for those longing for children, but we must share the biblical truth that every life is uniquely and intentionally created by God at the moment of conception and cannot be transferred from one womb to another. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and so is every child. Psalm 139:13-14 says, For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. And Jeremiah 1:5 says, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Psalm 127:3 also reminds us, Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. If the Lord has allowed conception, that child is already a soul known and loved by Him, with a purpose, and we are called to trust His sovereignty even when we feel afraid and unprepared.
We also notice you mention not being ready for a baby, which suggests you have been sexually active outside of marriage. We say this not to condemn you, but to lovingly call you to God's design for your good. The Bible teaches that sexual intimacy is a gift reserved for the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman. Hebrews 13:4 says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. And 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. If this is your situation, we encourage you to turn to the Lord in repentance and to commit to pursuing purity and courtship with the goal of godly marriage to a fellow believer, rather than a relationship that risks fornication. God is merciful and ready to forgive and to make you new.
We also want to address that you prayed to "Lord" but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. So we always come to God in the name of Jesus, trusting in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins.
We join you in praying for peace while you wait, whether you are waiting for clarity about pregnancy or for your cycle to come, and we pray against the anxiety that makes you say you hope it will not last much longer. God sees your distress and wants you to cast your cares on Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:28 also assures us, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.
So together we pray.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift up this dear one to You. You know her heart, her fear, her body, and whether a new life has begun within her. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your peace to guard her heart and mind. If she is pregnant, we pray You would give her courage, strength, and a deep understanding that this child is made in Your image and is a blessing, even when circumstances feel overwhelming. Help her to trust You to provide, to equip, and to make a way where she feels not ready. Give her godly counsel, medical care, and support from believers who will walk with her. If she is not pregnant, we pray You would use this fear to draw her closer to You and to lead her into a life of purity and obedience, seeking a godly marriage that honors You if it is Your will for her to marry. Forgive any sexual immorality, cleanse her through the blood of Jesus, and help her to flee from temptation and to honor You with her body. We also pray for all those who are longing for children, that You would comfort them and answer their prayers according to Your perfect will, but not at the expense of another life You have created. Above all, we pray she would put her full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing on His name for salvation and for access to Your throne of grace. Let Your will be done in her life, and let Your peace that surpasses understanding rest upon her. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to seek confirmation with medical care, to seek counsel from a trusted pastor or mature Christian woman, and to commit your future to the Lord in purity and faith. God loves you deeply and He is able to carry you through whatever the answer is.
