We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to bring deep and lasting peace to his mind and heart. ### years is a long time to carry the weight of panic attacks, and we stand in the gap for him, declaring that the God of all comfort is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has tormented him for so long. Your Word tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that this truth would take root in his heart and that he would experience the freedom that comes from trusting in You. May he find rest in Your presence, knowing that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also pray for his time with his children—that it would be filled with joy, peace, and the absence of these attacks. Father, we ask that You would strengthen him as a parent, giving him the patience, wisdom, and love he needs to raise his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. May his home be a place of safety and warmth, where Your peace reigns.
We encourage your friend to draw near to God through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy seeks to isolate, but God calls us into community. Remind him that casting all his anxieties on You is not just a suggestion—it is a command, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7). If he has not already, we urge him to seek godly counsel, whether through pastoral care, Christian counseling, or trusted brothers in Christ who can pray with and for him.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and find true peace. We lift up this dear brother who has struggled with panic attacks for so many years. Lord, You see his pain, his fear, and his weariness. We ask that You would break the chains of anxiety that have bound him and replace them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we declare that he is not alone. You are with him, and You will never leave him nor forsake him (Hebrews 13:5). We pray that he would feel Your presence in a tangible way, especially when fear tries to creep in. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who brings power, love, and a sound mind. Help him to meditate on Your Word day and night, for it is a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105).
We ask for healing in his mind, body, and spirit. If there are any areas of his life where he has not fully surrendered to You, reveal them to him, Lord. Help him to lay down every burden at the foot of the cross and to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. We pray for his children, that they would see their father walking in the freedom and peace that only You can provide. May his testimony be a light to them and to others who struggle with fear.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom in seeking help. Guide him to the right resources—whether medical, spiritual, or both—that will support his healing. Surround him with believers who will encourage him, pray for him, and hold him accountable. Let him know that it is okay to be weak, for Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We thank You, Father, for the victory that is already his in Christ Jesus. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Him who loved him (Romans 8:37). May he walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him, and may his life bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
