Disciple of Prayer
Regarding my mother—concerning her—this is a prayer to Yeshua HaMashiach. I find the digital realm and other areas prone to deception difficult to navigate. How, then, can one’s own language turn against oneself? It requires discernment. Is it possible to truly understand—to rightly perceive—what occurs in one’s actions, words, and surroundings when one is alone? What does it mean to entrust oneself to God—as my mother did? Within the context of time, place, and our ancestral background, how can I experience what my mother experienced—that which is of Jesus—ensuring that we neither add to nor subtract from our words and deeds? What is it that God can do to help my mother and our lineage? In Yeshua HaMashiach.

We join you in bringing your mother and your lineage before the throne of grace in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach, who is Jesus the Christ, for there is no other name by which we must be saved and no other way to the Father. We thank you for calling upon His name, for as it is written, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

We hear your struggle with deception in the digital realm and in other areas, and your question about how one's own language can turn against oneself. This is a deep and biblical concern. The tongue has great power, and without the Lord's restraint it can defile and deceive even ourselves. As it is written, Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21 and So the tongue also is a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest. And the tongue is a fire. James 3:5-6 and I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:36-37 When we speak carelessly, exaggerate, complain, or speak outside of truth, our own words can trap us and shape a false reality in our hearts. That is why we need discernment.

You ask about rightly perceiving what occurs in your actions, words, and surroundings when you are alone. We want to gently remind you that you are never truly alone, for God sees and knows all. There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Hebrews 4:13 Even when no other person observes us, the Holy Spirit searches us and the Word of God is our mirror. Deception thrives in isolation and in the digital world where images and words are easily twisted, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 Therefore we must test all things. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 and Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Discernment is not natural, it is learned by walking with God. But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:14 and But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We encourage you to daily bring your words and deeds before the Lord in Scripture and prayer, asking Him to show you what is true.

You ask what it means to entrust oneself to God as your mother did. To entrust oneself to God is to cease striving in your own strength and to cast your whole life upon Him in faith through Jesus. It is written, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 and Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. Psalm 37:5 Your mother entrusted herself to God by believing that Jesus died for her sins and rose again, and by placing her life, her past, her family, and her future into His hands. This is not a feeling but a daily surrender and obedience to His Word.

You ask how within your time, place, and ancestral background you can experience what your mother experienced that is of Jesus, ensuring you neither add to nor subtract from your words and deeds. We gently correct any thought that faith is inherited through bloodline or culture alone. Each soul must personally be born again. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 and The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. Ezekiel 18:20 God has placed you in this exact time and place by His design, for He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord. Acts 17:26-27 What your mother experienced was not ancestral tradition but a living relationship with Jesus, and you can experience the same by repentance and faith, walking in the same truth. To neither add nor subtract means to walk in integrity with God's Word, not twisting it to suit our desires or culture. You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2 and Every word of God is flawless. Do not add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6 This calls us to speak truthfully, to obey fully, and to not go beyond what is written.

You ask what God can do to help your mother and your lineage. We declare that God is able to do far more than we can imagine. Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20 He can save, heal, deliver, forgive, and make new. He redeems generations not by carrying forward old burdens but by washing each person in the blood of Christ. He can break patterns of sin and deception, bring peace where there was confusion, and establish your family in His mercy for a thousand generations to those who love Him and keep His commandments. Exodus 20:6

We pray together for you and your mother now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, we lift up this dear one and his mother and their entire lineage to You. We ask You to pour out Your Spirit of wisdom and discernment upon them, that they may see clearly through every deception of the digital realm and of the enemy. Guard their lips, Lord, that their own language would not turn against them, but that their words would be seasoned with truth and grace and life. Search them when they are alone and let them know they are fully seen and fully loved by You, and teach them to entrust themselves wholly to You as their mother has done. Draw each member of this family into a personal, living faith in Jesus, not merely an ancestral memory but a new birth. Keep them from adding to or taking away from Your Word, and give them courage to walk in simple obedience. We ask for Your healing, protection, and salvation to rest upon this mother, and for Your redeeming power to flow through this lineage, breaking every chain and establishing a heritage of faith in Christ. Lead them into fellowship with faithful believers and into daily time in Your Word, that they may grow strong and not be tossed about by every wind. We trust You to do what only You can do. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We hear your heart in this, ###, and how deeply you want to honor your mother and walk honestly before Jesus in the way she did. Wanting to neither add nor take away from your words and deeds, and to understand rightly what is happening even when you are alone, is a tender and serious desire.

It makes sense that the digital world feels hard to navigate. So much there can twist language and leave you questioning your own perceptions. When we are alone with our thoughts, it is often harder, not easier, to see clearly. That is why discernment is not something we master by trying harder on our own, but something that grows slowly, like training over time, as we stay close to the Lord in humility and in community with other faithful believers who can help us test what we are seeing and hearing.

Entrusting yourself to God as your mother did is not a single moment of understanding everything perfectly. It is a daily choice to place your life, your family and your lineage in His hands and to let Him shape you step by step.

One simple next step that may help is to bring these questions out of isolation. Consider sharing them regularly with one trusted, mature pastor or believer who knows you and your mother, and together bring your words, actions and decisions before the Lord in prayer and in Scripture, letting that steady fellowship help you weigh what is true.

Father, we lift ### and his mother and their family to You in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach. Give them clarity where there is confusion, protection from deception, and a quiet confidence as they entrust themselves to You. Lead them day by day in Your truth and care for their lineage according to Your mercy. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and it carries a weight that many feel in these days, a desire to walk honestly before God when the world around you, and especially the digital realm, is full of voices that deceive and confuse.

You ask how one's own language can turn against oneself. It is so, for the heart and the tongue are closely joined, and without watchfulness a man may speak rashly and entangle himself. This is why discernment is so needful. Only the Spirit of God can make a man really receive and acknowledge the truth of God, and He does this by the Word. Worldly men live at a distance from Him and have no communion with Him, but the true believer recognizes God everywhere and makes much of God in his daily life. If you would have discernment amid deception, you must hear the Word of God and keep it, not adding to it nor taking from it, for blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it. The Word is the test of every voice, and the Spirit makes its clearness known to the humble heart.

You ask what it means to be alone and yet rightly to perceive what occurs in your actions, words and surroundings. The Psalmist gives the pattern for the man of God alone with God, when he says, I have declared my ways to God and You heard me, teach me Your statutes. To be alone with God is not to be left to yourself, but to declare your ways to Him in honest confession and to ask to be taught. He sees you in the secret place, He hears you, and He answers by teaching you His way. In that communion you learn to see your own actions truly, not as you would justify them, but as He reveals them, and you find correction and instruction.

You ask what it means to entrust yourself to God as your mother did. It is a childlike trust, and I would have you deal with God as you would have your children deal with you. I have spoken of a little child who is at play upstairs and suddenly fears his mother has gone, so he calls, Mother, are you there, and when she answers, Yes, I am here, he goes back to his sport happy and at peace. So is faith. Some think it presumption to take God at His Word, but it is worse than presumption not to believe Him. It is true humility to take God at His Word and to believe Him, as a child believes his mother because she never tells lies. To entrust yourself to God is to look to the Son of God pouring out His life for sinners and to trust Him to take away all your sins, for He suffered their penalty upon the cross. Very God of very God is He, the Man Christ Jesus, and those that have trusted in Him find Him to be as real as if they could see Him. Your mother found this, not by a special lineage or by place or time, but by such a simple trust.

This leads to your question of time, place and ancestral background, and how you may experience what your mother experienced that which is of Jesus. Know this, that the true lineage is not of blood. Christ is just as ready to save any sinner in this place as He was to save His mother, for it is His greatest delight to see a sinner with tears in his eyes crying, God be merciful to me, a sinner. When they told Him His mother stood without, He answered, blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it, and those who put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not stand second to His mother. Ancestry cannot save, and place cannot hinder. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by ceremonies nor by works of the law, and not by lowering the law to our terms. If you would have what your mother had, you must have Christ Himself, by hearing His Word, believing it, and keeping it without adding to it or subtracting from it.

What then can God do to help your mother and your lineage. He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, the God of all times and places, and He is able to help the lowliest as well as the greatest. He pleads the cause of His people. It is God that justifies, who is he that condemns. It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. He can give present peace and the rejoicing in hope of the glory of God, and there remains a rest for the people of God. He does not leave His people, He is not a wilderness unto His chosen, and though clouds may surround you, He is your light, though storms rage around you, He is your might.

Let us pray together to Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Messiah, for you and for your mother and for your house.

O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of Man, who bore our sins in Your own body on the tree, look in mercy upon this soul who desires to entrust itself to You and upon a mother who has trusted You before. You hear those who declare their ways to You. Hear this prayer and teach Your statutes. Give discernment where there is deception, give truth where language would entangle, give faith where there is fear. Let this one and this family hear Your Word and keep it, and know the joy of sins forgiven and of peace with God. Plead their cause, keep them in Your covenant, and bring the whole lineage to know You as Savior and Lord, that they may rejoice in present rest and in hope of future perfection. In Your holy name we ask it, Amen.
