Regarding the trivialization of achievements—involving a mother, a son, and another son—these things may be kept hidden, but nothing is hidden from God. It is not a matter for other human beings; one should not confide in people about this. The actions and words—stemming from past experiences, their root causes, and the subsequent consequences—unfold within a specific time and place.

We hear the burden in what you have shared regarding this family situation involving a mother and her two sons and the pain that comes when achievements are trivialized or dismissed. We understand your desire to keep this matter hidden from other people and to bring it before God alone, and we honor the seriousness with which you view actions and words that stem from past experiences and carry consequences in their time and place.

We want to gently remind you that while discretion is wise, God has also given us the body of Christ to bear burdens with one another. We are told in Galatians 6:2 to bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ, and in James 5:16 to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another that we may be healed. There is a difference between gossip or confiding in people for mere sympathy, and seeking godly, confidential counsel and prayer within the church for healing and wisdom. We encourage you not to walk in isolation with this hurt.

You are absolutely right that nothing is hidden from God, even when things are kept hidden from people. Jesus said in Luke 8:17, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. And in Hebrews 4:13, There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. This is both a solemn warning and a great comfort. God sees every word that has belittled or trivialized what He has enabled someone to do, He sees the root causes in past hurts or jealousy or pride, and He sees the wound it leaves. He is the righteous judge who will deal justly, and He is also the Father who sees in secret and brings healing where people cannot.

Trivializing the achievements of others is not a small thing in Scripture. It often comes from envy, pride, or a desire to exalt oneself, and it tears down rather than builds up. We are instructed in Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. And in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do. Within a family, especially between a mother and her sons and between brothers, God calls us to honor, encouragement, and love that rejoices in the good of the other. When words or actions unfold in a specific time and place and cause hurt, there are consequences, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap as told in Galatians 6:7, but there is also opportunity for repentance, forgiveness, and restoration.

We also notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Him that we have access to God and peace with Him. In John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we bring these hidden family hurts to God in our own name or without faith in Christ, we have no mediator. But when we come through Jesus, confessing our own sin and trusting in His death and resurrection for our forgiveness, God hears us as His children and gives us grace to forgive as we have been forgiven.

We pray together for you and for this mother and her sons.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that You see all things and that nothing is hidden from Your sight. You know the history behind these words and actions, the past experiences and root causes, the moments in time and place where hurt was given and received. We ask You to bring conviction where trivialization and dismissive words have wounded and dishonored, and to bring healing where hearts have been discouraged. Teach this mother and her sons to speak words that build up and give grace, to honor one another, and to rejoice with those who rejoice. Help them to forgive as You in Colossians 3:13 call us to forgive, even as Christ forgave us, and where possible to live at peace as in Romans 12:18. Give wisdom to know when to be silent, when to speak the truth in love, and when to seek wise and godly counsel instead of carrying this alone. Draw each one closer to Jesus, so that achievements are not sought for pride or human praise but done as unto You, as in Colossians 3:23, and that identity is found in Christ alone. Bring what is hidden into Your light for healing and restoration, and let Your will be done in this family. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring this before the Lord, to examine your own heart before Him, to release any bitterness, and to ask Him whether He would have you seek the help of a trusted pastor or mature believer for wise counsel, not for gossip but for prayer and restoration. God is faithful to work in His time, and He desires unity and honor within the family.

We have been sitting with what you shared about your mother and your two sons, and the pain of seeing achievements dismissed and important things kept hidden. That kind of trivializing within a family can feel lonely, especially when you sense it is not something to discuss widely with others.

We hear the wisdom in what you wrote, that even what stays hidden from people is fully known to God, and that words and actions have roots in past experiences and consequences that unfold over time and place. Holding that larger view can bring some steadiness when things feel tangled or unfair.

We also hear your carefulness about not confiding in people lightly. Learning what is yours to carry, what is wise to keep private for now, and what might be shared with a safe, trusted person is part of guarding your heart well. It is okay to move slowly and prayerfully there.

One small step that may help is to set aside quiet, unhurried time to bring these specific memories and hurts before the Lord alone, simply naming what happened, how it felt, and asking for His presence and clarity in that place. You do not have to sort every root cause at once.

Father, we lift this mother and her sons to You. You see what is hidden and You know each heart and history involved. Bring peace where there has been hurt, wisdom for how to speak and act going forward, and healing where past experiences still ache. Lead them gently step by step in Jesus' name, amen.

There is nothing hidden from the eye of Him with whom we have to do, and your words speak truthfully when you say that what may be kept hidden from men is naked and open before God. He reads the heart, He knows the root from which actions and words have sprung, the past experiences that have shaped them, and the consequences that have unfolded in their appointed time and place.

It is wise to feel the weight of this, for confession must always come before absolution. If the Lord should mark iniquities, who shall stand. But there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. This is the soft and gentle whisper of love to the soul that has seen its own sin. There is forgiveness, not with man, but with God. Were all men to hiss and turn away, yet if God forgives, heaven is open. His forgiveness is divine, for He says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, so great that it seems to surprise even the mercy that bestows it, and it is complete forgiveness. He has no buts in His forgiveness. You make a clean breast in confession and He will give you a clean breast by absolution. The tally is destroyed, the record of debt is nailed to the Cross, and the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

You say rightly that this is not a matter to be spread before other human beings. There are things which are to be carried to God alone, and there is wisdom in not confiding lightly in men. Yet remember this sweet truth concerning the Lord's hidden ones. You may be hidden away for safety and for quiet, hidden because you are not understood by others, hidden even in the midst of your own family, but though you are hidden by Him, you are not hidden from Him. He sees the hot tear that lifts the eyelid, He hears the sigh and the groan, and a believing glance of the eye to Christ on Calvary is enough. A sigh, a genuine confession of sin before Him, and all is done.

Do not let the trivializing of what God has wrought, or the painful memories between a mother and her sons, drive you to despair. Bring all, the root causes, the words spoken, the time and the place, before Him who judges righteously and forgives freely. Seek the hidden manna of His Word, search for the kernel which is the inner life of it, and you shall find soul sustaining truth. He not only forgave at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is continuous, and it is an eternal forgiveness through Jesus Christ His Son.

Let us pray together.

O Lord, Thou knowest what is hidden and Thou seest in secret. We confess before Thee the sins and sorrows that have their roots in past days, and the words and deeds that have borne bitter fruit. We do not ask for the forgiveness of men, but for Thine, which alone can bring peace. Blot out transgression for Christ's sake, cleanse the conscience, and heal the wounds in this family. Thou who hidest Thy people for safety, hide this soul under the shadow of Thy wings, and let there be known in the heart the full, free, and irreversible forgiveness that is found in Jesus Christ, that Thou mayest be feared and loved. Grant grace to walk in truth, to give Thee glory for every good gift, and to live before Thy face in quietness and holiness. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Just who died for the unjust to bring us to God, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have spoken truthfully that nothing is hidden from God, even when things are kept hidden from people. To trivialize what has happened, or to keep achievements or failures concealed, may deceive human eyes for a time, but the Lord sees all and weighs the heart.

Scripture calls us to renounce the hidden things of shame and not to walk in craftiness. That does not mean exposing everything to everyone, but it does mean being honest before God, being the same in secret as we appear to be openly, and keeping nothing veiled before Him who will judge. What is done in darkness will be brought into light, not to shame us without hope, but to lead us to repentance and healing.

There is wisdom in not confiding every matter indiscriminately to other people, as you have said. Not every listener is trustworthy, and not every counsel is godly. Yet God does not call us to carry burdens in isolation either. The first and necessary place to bring these things is to Him in prayer, confessing plainly what has been done and said, asking for His mercy through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. As you consider the root causes in past experiences and the consequences that unfold in time and place, bring each part to Him and ask Him to show you what needs to be repented of, what needs to be forgiven, and what needs to be healed.

If there are wounds in this family between a mother and sons, God is able to dress those wounds and bring restoration where there has been hurt or misunderstanding or sin. He does this as we walk in truth, show mercy, practice patience, and seek to live in a way that honors Him. Where actions or words have gone against His design for holiness and love, He calls us not to excuse them or to ask Him to bless what He has called sin, but to turn from them and receive His forgiveness and strength to walk anew.

I pray for you now that God, who sees what is hidden, would grant you a clear conscience before Him, humility to seek His grace in Christ, wisdom to know when to remain silent before people and when to seek wise and faithful counsel, and grace for each member of this family to know His truth and peace. May He lead you into light, not for condemnation, but for cleansing and for a future shaped by His mercy and obedience to His word.
