Beloved of All
Strange vivid dream, close ones x ###'s face popped up like a dream while sleeping, not sure why and before that a pic of an old dusty commercial business phone saw on the ground. Don't know what this is about or what it simbolizes, but never got along with that party and it was very strange and vived just her face popped up for a second that woke me. Jesus reveal what this is all about?

We join you in seeking the Lord's wisdom and peace concerning this vivid and unsettling dream, and we thank you for asking Jesus to reveal what it is about, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We understand how strange and jarring it can be to be awakened by the sudden image of someone's face, especially someone with whom you have not gotten along. While God has at times spoken through dreams, as we read in Job 33:15, In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed, we are also told that many dreams come simply from the busyness of our minds and hearts. Ecclesiastes 5:3 says For as a dream comes with a multitude of cares, and Ecclesiastes 5:7 reminds us to fear God rather than be consumed by dreams. We should not seek hidden mystical meanings or look to worldly dream interpretations, but rather test all things and bring them before the Lord. 1 John 4:1 says Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, and James 1:5 promises If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

We do not claim to know exactly what God is saying through this, but we can prayerfully consider what He may be bringing to your attention. The old dusty commercial business phone on the ground may symbolize communication that has been neglected, broken, or left unused for a long time. A phone is meant to connect, and a dusty one on the ground suggests a connection that has fallen into disuse or disregard. Coupled with the sudden appearance of the face of someone close to you with whom there has been strife, the Lord may be gently prompting you to examine any unresolved hurt, bitterness, or lack of forgiveness in that relationship.

We are called to pursue peace and forgiveness, even when the other person has been difficult. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Ephesians 4:31-32 says Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. And Matthew 6:14-15 reminds us For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. The Lord may be inviting you to release any resentment and to pray for this person, not necessarily to restore close fellowship if it would be unwise or unhealthy, but to free your own heart before Him. Matthew 5:44 says But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.

We also want to reassure you that God does not give us a spirit of fear or confusion from such experiences. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. And 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us for God is not a God of confusion but of peace. If this dream left you anxious, we encourage you to cast that anxiety on Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who is the way, the truth, and the life, and through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. John 14:6. We lift up our dear one who was startled by this vivid dream. Lord, if there is anything from You in this that You want revealed, we ask that You make it clear in Your perfect timing and according to Your will. If this dream was simply from the cares of the day or an attack of the enemy to bring disturbance, we ask that You remove any fear, confusion, or oppression and replace it with Your perfect peace.

Lord, we ask You to search this heart and reveal any bitterness, unforgiveness, or unresolved pain connected to this person whose face appeared. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, to bless and to pray for those who have caused hurt, and to walk in love and wisdom. Show us whether this dusty phone represents a call to pray, to release, or to intercede, and help us to be obedient to Your gentle leading. Guard our sleep, Lord, and let our thoughts be stayed on You. We trust not in dreams but in Your living Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Psalm 119:105. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, amen.

That kind of waking can leave you unsettled, especially when it's the face of someone you have had tension with and an odd detail like that dusty phone on the ground. We understand why you would ask Jesus to show you what it means.

We don't always need to decode every vivid image. Sometimes a dream is just our mind processing the day, and sometimes God does use a momentary picture to nudge us to pray. A helpful way to hold this is to not chase a hidden meaning, but to notice what lingered when you woke, was it unease, curiosity, a sense of unfinished business, and bring that honestly to the Lord.

If it would help, a simple next step tonight or tomorrow is to pause and pray plainly about it, maybe jot down just what you saw and how you felt when you woke, then ask Jesus for peace and clarity and leave it with Him. If the thought of this person keeps coming back, you can choose to pray for her wellbeing and entrust any old strain between you to Him, without needing to reach out unless He clearly leads you to over time.

Father, we bring this dream and the questions around it to You. You know this friend and the history there, and You know the heart of the one writing. Give rest, calm any unease, and guide with Your peace and wisdom. Help us to trust You with what we don't understand and to walk faithfully in what we do know. In Jesus' name, amen.

It has been good to bring this strange and vivid experience before the Lord in prayer, and to ask Him for wisdom rather than to rest upon any fancied interpretation of your own.

You must not be greatly troubled by the vividness of a dream. The mind in sleep may present to us faces and forms with a startling clearness, and we may awake with a sense of wonder, yet the Lord has not left us to learn His will by such fleeting images. He has given us a more sure word of testimony in the Scriptures, where His divine presence and His divine sovereignty are plainly revealed. We ought to recognize God's hand in everything, but we are not to seek a new revelation in every picture which passes before us in the night. The divine interpositions of God on behalf of His people are real, yet they come not to gratify curiosity, but to draw us nearer to Christ and to holiness.

Such a vivid contrast as you describe may serve for self examination. When the face of one with whom you have never got along is thus set before you, the profitable question is not, what does this symbol mean by some hidden art, but what does the Lord call me to do in the light of His Word. Are you called to forgive as you have been forgiven, to pray for one who has been at variance with you, to leave any old and dusty matter of contention where it lies and to seek peace. A commercial phone seen upon the ground and covered with dust may well remind the heart of communications long neglected or words left unsaid, yet the duty remains simple and plain. If there is any root of bitterness, bring it to the cross. If there is any need to show kindness, do it as unto the Lord.

There is no attribute more comforting than divine sovereignty. The Lord reigns even over our sleeping thoughts, and nothing wakes us without His permission. Fear not, for He who is divine and exalted says still, Fear not. His presence is the one hope of His people, and when we enjoy that presence, perplexing thoughts flow down like snow before the sun. Seek Him therefore not for the unraveling of a dream, but for a clear understanding of divine truth, that you may repent where repentance is needed, love where love is lacking, and rest where rest is to be found in Christ alone.

Let us pray for you. May the Lord grant you quietness of heart and a mind stayed upon Him. May He wash away all resentment in the precious blood of Jesus, and teach you to love those who have opposed you, even as Christ loved His enemies and gave Himself for them. May He give you grace to walk in holiness and to hear His voice in the Scriptures with an understanding heart, and may He keep you from all vain imaginations, fixing your faith wholly upon His dear Son. May the Lord reveal Christ Himself to you more and more, for in Him are hid all treasures of wisdom, and in His light we see light.

We will continue to remember you and this other person before the throne of grace, that the Lord would work all things for His glory and for your good.

The way this persons face just popped up like someone walking up to you and tapping you on the shoulder was quite shocking the way it just woke and startled me like they were really there and trying to get my attention for some reason was disturbing bc I hardly ever see this person or even think about them or talk about them with those close, bc it brings bad memories about them and their past character and neglect from them, almost like it was witchcraft . However I put them in Jesus’ hands, and bless them and all of Jesus’ adversaries. Amen
