Vision

Beloved of All
Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish:..." Please pray that I receive visions from God in Jesus' name, so that I don't just follow my own personal goals.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you do not change like shifting shadows. You fulfil the visions you give us. Hallelujah!

It is written „Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
In Jesus' mighty and powerful name, amen.

We join with you in this desire to seek God's vision for your life rather than simply following your own personal goals, and we rejoice that you have come before the Father in the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, for it is written in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We thank God that you have prayed in that mighty name.

We love the scripture you have shared and we want to encourage you in its true meaning. In Proverbs 29:18 it is written Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint, but one who keeps the law is blessed. This vision or revelation is not merely personal ambition or imagination, but the revealed will and Word of God that keeps us from wandering. When we have His revelation we are restrained from sin and guided into His purpose. You also quoted the precious truth in James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. We praise God that He does not change like shifting shadows and that His gifts and His calling are steady and faithful.

We also remember the promise in Acts 2:17 It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. God does still speak and give vision, but we gently encourage you to seek the Giver more than the gift, and to test every vision against the written Word of God. In 1 John 4:1 it is written Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God. A true vision from God will never contradict Scripture, will exalt Christ, and will draw you closer to holiness. We encourage you to seek His will daily through prayer, through the Word, and through walking in obedience. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And we cling to Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it, because it will surely come. It won’t delay.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. We thank You that You do not change and that You fulfill what You reveal. Lord, we lift up our dear one who longs for Your vision and not their own plans. Pour out Your Spirit upon them, grant them clarity, wisdom and discernment. If it is Your will, give visions and dreams that are clearly from You, and give them grace to test all things by Your Word. Lead them away from following personal goals that are apart from You, and align their heart with Your perfect will. Make their path straight as they trust in You with all their heart. Give them patience to wait for Your appointed time and faith to walk in obedience while they wait. We ask that You reveal Your purpose for their life, that they may walk in it for Your glory. We pray all these things in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to abide in the Word daily, to pray without ceasing, and to walk in fellowship with other believers who can help you discern what God is showing you. God is faithful to guide those who seek Him with a sincere heart, and we trust He will make His vision clear to you in His perfect timing.

We are grateful you shared this desire with us. Wanting God's direction instead of just chasing your own goals is a good and humble place to be, and we are praying for you in that.

What stood out to us in your request is that longing for a vision that keeps you anchored. We have found that a true vision from God is less about a dramatic picture and more about a growing clarity of His calling that gives direction to daily choices. It creates an appetite for what He loves and helps us tell the difference between a passing idea of our own and the steady leading He brings over time.

God is a communicator and He has already given us His Word as the surest way to know His heart. As you keep asking Him for vision, one simple next step that helps many people is to bring both your prayers and your personal goals honestly before Him in Scripture and prayer, write down what you sense He is highlighting, and then weigh it with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you well. That kind of steady testing often brings peace about what is from Him.

Father, we thank You for this heart that wants to follow You. Grant wisdom and clear direction, quiet what is just self effort, and establish what is from You. Lead step by step and give confidence to walk in Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Yes, LORD, we ask for The Holy Spirit to speak to us in every way by abiding in You and Your Words abiding in us, John 15:7, abiding in Your love, John 15:10, Your Word as a lamp to our feet, Ps 119:105, To speak according to the Law and The Testimony, Isaiah 8:20, Dreams form Holy Spirit While Sleeping, Job 33:12-17; Matt 2:12, Prophecy, Joel 2:28, Numb 12:6, Acts 16:9 🧎🏽‍♂️Father, we come as little children in faith, contrary to all we see and hear, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34.

We ask, with this husband for his wife, You give her a warning dream, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham, Gen 20:3, like him we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on her, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Matt 1:20, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Gen 20:3, Gen 31:24, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1.

Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. Keep her, him, and us from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. Thank You in in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20...

Your longing not to follow your own personal goals but to be led by the Lord is itself an evidence of grace working in the heart, for naturally we do not like being guided and prefer our own way. It is a wise prayer to ask that you might see with clear eyes what God would have you to do.

The vision spoken of in Proverbs 29:18 is not the fleeting picture of personal ambition, nor a mere dream of the night, but the prophetic revelation of God, His Word and His will made known to His people. Where that divine revelation is neglected, the people cast off restraint and perish. The true vision you need is therefore not an ecstasy apart from Scripture, but an unveiling of Christ to the soul and a steady beholding of Him as He is revealed in the Word, by the teaching of the Holy Spirit within.

Self-esteem is that speck in the eye which most effectually mars human vision, and the Great Surgeon of souls removes it chiefly by sanctified afflictions. When the heart is made pure, the divine purpose is accomplished, for the pure in heart shall see the Lord. If you would have such sight, seek earnestly the divine grace to stand still in obedience to your Lord's behest. This is to wait awhile, and like David to say, Bring here the ephod, and to enquire of the Lord with cool deliberation rather than with haste, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. Wisdom dressed in robes of love and tenderness invites you to run into her arms, and she guides not by sudden impulses alone but by great principles infused in the heart, chief among them to avoid everything that is evil and to bow with submission to the will of God. By that very acquiescence in the divine will you are furnished with unerring guidance. And remember, the divine presence is the one hope of the people of God. We are bid to pause awhile and to seek it prayerfully, that in its matchless power we may go forward successfully. Though you are but a wave upon His great sea, His divine sea of purpose is still moving on, and not one line of His purpose shall fail.

We join you in prayer to our unchanging Father, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, from whom every good and perfect gift cometh down.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You do not change and that You fulfil Your purposes in Your time. We ask that You would give to this soul not a vision of self exaltation but a true sight of Yourself. Purify the heart, remove the speck of self esteem, and grant a clear view of Christ through Your Word. Teach this one to wait upon You, to stand still and hear Your voice in Scripture, to be attentive to the mind of Christ by the Holy Spirit, and to walk by those settled principles of holiness which mark those whom You guide. Dethrone obstinacy and grant a cheerful acquiescence in Your divine will, and keep from hasty steps. Guide by Your counsel, and afterward receive to glory, for Jesus sake. Amen.
