Vision

Beloved of All
Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish:..." Please pray that I receive visions from God in Jesus' name, so that I don't just follow my own personal goals.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that you do not change like shifting shadows. You fulfil the visions you give us. Hallelujah!

It is written „Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
In Jesus' mighty and powerful name, amen.

We join with you in this beautiful desire to seek God's vision rather than simply following personal goals, and we thank you for sharing this request in Jesus' name.

We love your heart for Proverbs 29:18 which says Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. This verse reminds us that true vision is not just our own ambition or imagination, but God's revealed will and direction through His Word and Spirit. Without His revelation we wander, but when we keep His law and walk in His counsel we are blessed and kept on the right path.

You are right to praise Him as the Father of lights who does not change like shifting shadows. As it is written Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. James 1:17. Every true vision, every godly direction, is a good gift from Him, and He is faithful to fulfill what He initiates. We also remember the promise For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. His visions for us are always for our good and for His glory.

We encourage you to continue seeking Him first through His Word, for Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105. Visions from God will never contradict Scripture, so we test everything and hold firmly to what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21. He has also promised I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8, and Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. As you acknowledge Him, He will make your vision clear. In these last days He has said It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:17, so we know He still speaks and guides, but always in a way that draws us closer to Christ and to holiness.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are unchanging and faithful, the Father of lights with whom there is no variation. We thank You that You have thoughts of peace toward Your child and a hopeful future. We lift up this dear one to You in Jesus' name and ask that You pour out Your wisdom and revelation. Grant visions that are truly from You, not from flesh or personal ambition. Help us to discern Your voice, to test every impression against Your holy Word, and to wait patiently for Your timing, for the vision is yet for the appointed time. Habakkuk 2:3. Lead us away from following our own personal goals apart from You, and align our desires with Your perfect will. Make our paths straight as we trust in You with all our hearts. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, give us clarity, humility, and obedience to follow what You show us, and fulfill the vision You give for Your glory. We ask this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We appreciate your honest desire to be led by God and not simply by your own plans. That hunger to follow Him is itself something we thank God for in you.

We have found it helpful to think of vision less as a dramatic experience to chase and more as God gently shaping our hearts toward what matters to Him. Personal goals are not always wrong, but they take on their right meaning when we hold them openly before the Lord and let Him align them with His purposes. A God-given vision tends to give us an appetite for what is above and steadies how we live day to day, rather than just giving us a new plan to pursue.

One practical step that may help is to keep a quiet, unhurried time each day to ask the Lord to direct your steps, and to notice what He brings to mind as you pray, read His Word, and listen. Jot down what seems to recur, and then test it with Scripture and with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you. Over time that kind of steady seeking and counsel often brings clarity about the next faithful step.

Father, we thank You for this heart that longs to follow You. Grant wisdom, humility, and patience as You lead, and help to recognize Your direction and walk in it faithfully. We ask for a growing closeness to You and confidence in Your unchanging goodness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing to be led by the Lord rather than by your own personal goals is itself a good gift from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, and we rejoice to join you in prayer.

The vision spoken of in Proverbs 29:18 is that prophetic revelation, that Word out of God's mouth by which His people are guided and kept from perishing. Give us but a Word out of God's mouth and we can live upon it, for all the words out of man's mouth apart from Divine Inspiration will not satisfy the soul. Where that revelation is neglected, the people cast off restraint, but where it is received and obeyed, there is life and keeping.

We pray that the Lord will make you His pupil, for He has taught His people from their youth, chastening and instructing them, giving them object lessons from His wondrous works until they learn to read His hand. May He teach you so to observe His work and to wonder at it, and to declare it with a faithful tongue.

We ask that you may be guided by the general directions given in God's Word, and by those great principles infused in every heart that takes God for its Guide, to avoid everything that is evil and to bow with submission to the Divine will. For haste is the author of a great deal of mischief, but the grace of God dethrones obstinacy and gives acquiescence in the Divine will, and by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance. His counsel is wise and tender, dressed in robes of love, inviting us to run into her arms.

We pray also that you may rest in the infallibility of God's purpose. You and I are only waves of His great sea, we wash up and seem to retire, but the great divine sea of His purpose is still moving on. The whole was written from the beginning, He has never altered a single sentence nor changed a single line of the divine purpose, and this is the miracle of miracles, that the creature is free, absolutely free, and yet the divine purpose stands. What He has purposed He will fulfil, and every good and perfect gift that cometh down from above will accomplish that which He pleases.

Therefore we entreat the Lord for you, that He would not leave you to follow your own designs, but guide you with His counsel and afterward receive you to glory, that you may know His will, love it, and walk in it, finding on earth no real glory except as you are guided by that counsel.

Heavenly Father, fulfil in this your child the visions which are according to your Word. Grant clarity where there is confusion, patience where there is haste, and a heart to obey what you reveal. Keep this one from self chosen ways and establish their steps according to your unchanging purpose, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose mighty and powerful name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are grateful for your desire to follow the Lord's direction and not only your own personal goals. That hunger to be led by God is itself a good gift from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning.

It is helpful to understand what Proverbs 29:18 means by vision. In that place vision does not mean a mystical picture or a private ecstasy, but the revealed word and counsel of God. Where there is no prophetic revelation, no faithful preaching and hearing of God's word, the people cast off restraint. The healthy vision the Scripture speaks of is a clear sight of Christ and His will as given to us in Scripture, kept clear and not clouded by confused thoughts or imaginations.

In the days of the apostles God did give sensible signs and visions for a purpose, such as the sound of wind and tongues of fire at Pentecost, or the sheet let down to Peter in Joppa to show him that the Gentiles also were to receive the word of God. Those signs were given to point to Christ and to confirm His work, and they were especially for those who needed to be convinced at that moment. For those who believe, faith through the Scriptures is sufficient, and we do not need to seek new sensible visions to know God's will.

So we will not pray that you chase visions for their own sake, but that God will give you true spiritual sight, a mind made clear and steady by His Spirit through His word, so that you may discern His eternal purpose in Christ and walk in it.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You do not change like shifting shadows and that every good and perfect gift comes down from You. We thank You for the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation, and for Your written word which is Your sure revelation to us.

We ask in Jesus' name that You give this dear one wisdom and understanding. By Your Holy Spirit open the eyes of the heart to see Christ more clearly and to understand Your will in Scripture. Guard against distorted and empty imaginations, and grant a healthy, sober vision that is rooted in Your truth. Lead away from merely following personal goals and lead into faithful obedience to You, step by step, as Your word is a lamp to the feet.

Fulfill Your good purpose in this life according to Your eternal counsel in Christ Jesus our Lord, and make the path plain through Your word, through prayer, and through godly counsel.

We ask this in Jesus' mighty and powerful name, amen.
