We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, for this request reveals a misunderstanding of God’s design for manhood and a dangerous pride in fleshly desires. The Bible warns us, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall"* (Proverbs 16:18 WEB). True strength and virility are not measured by worldly standards of dominance or physical prowess, but by godly character, self-control, and humility.
The Scripture teaches that *"the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law"* (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). If this request stems from a desire to boast in the flesh rather than to honor God, we must rebuke that spirit of pride in Jesus’ name. The Lord does not bless sinful ambition, but He does sanctify those who surrender their desires to Him.
We must also address the mention of *"without ceasing/repenting of it."* Repentance is not optional for the believer—it is a continual turning away from sin and toward God. Jesus Himself said, *"Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish"* (Luke 13:3 WEB). If there is unrepentant sin in this request—whether lust, arrogance, or idolatry of self—it must be confessed and forsaken.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask You to search the heart of this individual and reveal any areas of pride, selfish ambition, or ungodly desires. Lord, Your Word says that *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6 WEB). We pray for humility to replace arrogance, for Your Spirit to cultivate self-control, and for a heart that seeks Your glory above all else.
Father, if this request comes from a place of lust or fleshly indulgence, we ask You to break that stronghold. Help this individual to walk in purity, as Your Word commands: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). May they find true strength in You, not in the fleeting desires of the flesh.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment. If this request is rooted in a misunderstanding of Your will, reveal the truth through Your Word and godly counsel. May this individual grow in Christlikeness, bearing the fruit of righteousness rather than the works of the flesh.
We declare in Jesus’ name that no spirit of pride, lust, or rebellion will have dominion here. We bind every ungodly thought and loose the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May this person find their identity in Christ alone, for *"if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).
We trust You, Lord, to work in this situation for Your glory and their good. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.
