Beloved of All
Your urgent cry for healing has been heard and I want to pray with you with compassion and honesty before the Lord.
I hear how weary you are of looking at scars and marks and uneven places on your face, and how much you long to be free from needing tape and to simply see smooth, new skin. Jesus understands that longing. In the Gospels He was always moved when people came to Him only seeking help for their sickness. He did not scold them for wanting relief. He touched lepers, He healed a centurion's servant, He lifted Peter's mother in law from fever, and evening after evening crowds brought the sick and those in spiritual bondage and He showed His power to heal. Matthew connects that to the promise in Isaiah that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, and when He gave the bread at the table He said this is My body broken for you.
I believe with all my heart that God still heals today and that He is able to heal. At the same time there is much about healing I do not understand, and I want to be honest with you about that. Scripture shows us different ways God heals. Most of the healings of Jesus were immediate and miraculous, and there is one healing where the restoration came gradually in stages. I have seen God touch people instantly, I have seen healing come slowly over time through a process, and I have also seen people who loved Jesus deeply not receive the physical healing they prayed for in this life. I do not know why some receive a sudden miracle, some experience gradual improvement, and some are not healed as they had hoped. That is beyond my understanding. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for a painful affliction to be taken away and the Lord answered him in a different way than he asked. To assume that God must heal in exactly the way and timing we ask is not what Scripture teaches. God often works in ways we do not expect.
Any true healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment or through a process over weeks and months. The skill of doctors, the body's ability to mend, and a sudden touch are all under His hand. God also brings healing to the heart and mind, healing the deeper wounds, shame, and hurt that physical scars can leave behind. That inner healing is also divine and precious in His sight, even as we continue to ask Him for physical restoration.
So I will pray for you as you have asked, and I will also pray for God's peace and wisdom to guard your heart while you wait on Him. We will not try to whip up emotion or promise a formula. We simply bring you to Jesus in quiet trust, because He is kind and powerful and He hears.
Lord Jesus, I bring this dear one to You right now. You see this face that You created and You see every mark, every scar, every dent and raised place and trace of surgery that causes such distress. You know the weariness of caring for this skin day after day. Lord, I ask that You would touch this face with Your healing power. If it is Your will, bring miraculous restoration. If You choose to work gradually, guide every treatment and give wisdom to those who provide care, and let the skin be renewed day by day by Your hand. Heal also the hurt and anxiety that has settled in the heart, and let Your presence bring calm and assurance. Above all, let Your will be done and let this life reflect trust in Your goodness whether the answer comes instantly, gradually, or in the perfect healing You will give in Your presence. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, the one who bore our infirmities. Amen.
Keep bringing your request to Him honestly and keep trusting His character even when you cannot see the outcome yet. He is near, He cares for you, and He will do what is right and loving. May the Lord who is described as the sun of righteousness rising with healing in His wings be your comfort and hope as you look to Him each day.
