Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for bringing so many burdens to prayer. I hear how heavy this has felt, the ongoing struggles with your skin, breathing, eyes, hair and scalp, blood, stomach and body, hormones, fatigue, sleep, anxiety and heaviness of spirit, along with loneliness, disappointment in waiting for marriage, criticism from others, worries about photos and videos, and the strain of housing and financial need. It is right to bring all of these things honestly before the Lord, because He cares for both your body and your soul.
Scripture shows that Jesus truly does care about physical suffering. When Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would bear our griefs and carry our sorrows, Matthew by the Spirit applied that to the healings Jesus did, when in the evening many sick and afflicted people were brought to Him and He healed them. Isaiah 53 verse 4 speaks of Him bearing our infirmities and sicknesses, and Matthew chapter 8 connects that directly to Jesus healing bodies, not only forgiving sin. When we remember communion, the bread reminds us that His body was broken for us. That is a foundation for coming to Him with confidence to ask for healing.
At the same time the Bible does not teach that God wills physical healing in the same way and timing for every person in every case. Paul the apostle prayed three times for the Lord to remove what he called a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the Lord answered that His grace was sufficient and His strength was made perfect in weakness. God is able to heal, and He still does heal today, but His wisdom governs when and how He heals. The New Testament also teaches that gifts of healings are given by the Spirit as He wills, and the rhetorical question is asked, do all have gifts of healings, do all speak with tongues, do all interpret, with the expected answer no. Not everyone is given the same gift, and healing is not a formula we can demand.
There are also different ways God heals. Sometimes healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual. In one account Jesus healed a blind man in stages, and that is the only gradual healing recorded in His ministry, which reminds us that gradual process is still divine. God has built healing processes into our bodies. What we call natural recovery is still from Him, because He created nature and its processes. Healing can also touch the emotions and the mind, lifting scars and wounds that have weighed on the heart, even as we continue to pray for the body.
You mentioned many physical concerns alongside heaviness, sadness, criticism and sleeplessness. The Bible notes a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John wrote to Gaius that he wished above all things that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That was John's loving wish, not a blanket promise that everyone will always be well, but it does point to a true relationship. Proverbs says a merry heart does good like a medicine, and we now know how much inner peace, hope and joy can affect the body, while constant anxiety, bitterness and sorrow can harm it. This is why caring for your spiritual life is so important. We naturally feed the physical person three meals a day, but we can neglect the inner person. Prayer and at times fasting help to strengthen the spiritual person while we quiet the demands of the flesh. There is a physical world we can see and touch and a spiritual world that is just as real, and prayer is where God gives us strength in that spiritual realm.
It is also important to set aside ideas like bad luck or misfortune as forces that control us, and to understand curses in light of the cross. In Christ, those who belong to Him are a new creation, and no curse can separate them from His love or override His sovereignty. What you need is not luck, but the steady mercy and providence of God, who knows your needs for daily provision, housing, rest and peace. One prayer in Proverbs asks for neither poverty nor riches, but for daily bread, so that we would neither be driven to dishonor God by want nor forget Him in abundance. That is a balanced way to pray for financial and material needs.
Concerning singleness and waiting for marriage, God honors marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. Waiting can feel like delay and disappointment, and it is right to ask God to guide you, to guard your heart from discouragement, and if it is His will, to provide a godly marriage in His timing. While you wait, He can give purpose, community and growth in Him, and He can heal the hurt of rejection and criticism.
I encourage you to continue bringing each specific need to the Lord, and also to use the practical helps He provides, including good medical care, rest, nourishment and cleanliness, which all matter for health. Bring your concerns about your appearance and photos to Him as well, asking for peace and freedom from shame, knowing your value is before Him.
Let me pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I bring this dear one before You. You know every detail of body and mind, every ache, every sleepless night, every disappointment and every criticism that has wounded. You sent Your Son to bear our sins and our infirmities, and I ask for Your mercy and healing touch according to Your perfect will. Where You choose to heal directly, I ask You to do so. Where You work through gradual processes, doctors, treatment and time, I ask You to guide and bless those means. Heal also the heaviness of heart, lift depression and anxiety, and grant peace, sound sleep and a merry heart. Prosper the soul through Your Word and presence, and draw this heart closer to Jesus as Savior and Lord. Provide for daily needs, housing and provision, and lead in the matter of marriage according to Your good design and timing. Deliver from fear, shame and the pressure of others opinions, and let Your grace be known as sufficient and Your strength perfected even in weakness. Give wisdom, comfort and hope day by day, and help to trust Your love and sovereignty above all else. Amen.
