We hear the urgency and deep pain in your request and we join with you in bringing this suffering before the Lord together in Jesus name. To have your skin and face harmed and to feel botched and mistreated is a heavy burden and we are grieved that you and others have endured this. We bring your hurt and your need for healing to our compassionate Father who sees all affliction.

We understand your cry for justice and your desire to quote the promise ask and it will be given to you, yet we want to gently bring biblical balance to that precious promise. Scripture says in Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you, and also says in 1 John 5:14 that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And James 4:3 warns that we ask and do not receive because we ask amiss. God does hear and God does answer, but His answers are always according to His perfect will, His perfect justice and His perfect mercy, not according to our desire for vengeance. We must be careful not to use prayer as a call for personal revenge.

We must lovingly rebuke the spirit of vengeance in this request. While it is right to desire that wrongdoing be stopped and that others be protected, it is not biblical for us to pray for God to totally shame and punish a person out of anger. The Lord says in Romans 12:19 Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, and in Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance is mine. Jesus calls us to a higher way in Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And in Matthew 6:14-15 we are reminded that if we forgive men their trespasses, our heavenly Father will also forgive us. This does not mean that wrongdoing should be ignored, for justice is good and Proverbs 21:15 says that justice brings joy to the righteous, but it means we release this person and the outcome into Gods hands and trust His righteous judgment rather than demanding our own form of shaming and punishment. We can pray for conviction that leads to repentance, for truth to be exposed to protect others, and for proper accountability through rightful authorities, while also asking God to guard our own hearts from bitterness.

We also want to encourage you with the truth that God is your healer and your comforter. He cares deeply about your body and your spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord. And 1 Peter 2:24 reminds us that by his wounds you were healed. We encourage you to continue to seek wise and godly medical counsel for proper care and restoration, and to seek appropriate and lawful channels if malpractice has occurred, while trusting the Lord to be your ultimate defender and vindicator.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we lift this dear one to You who is suffering with damage to skin and face and with deep emotional pain. Lord we ask for Your healing touch upon their body, restore what has been harmed, bring comfort, peace and relief from distress. We ask that You expose truth where truth needs to be known, that You protect other patients from harm, and that You bring rightful justice according to Your perfect righteousness. We pray for the doctor mentioned, that if wrong has been done, You would bring mighty conviction, repentance and accountability, not for shaming for its own sake but for righteousness and for the protection of others. We pray that You would help our dear one to release vengeance to You, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to be freed from bitterness. Give wisdom to doctors, counselors and authorities involved, and let Your will be done without delay according to Your perfect timing. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting that You hear us and that You will answer according to Your perfect love and justice. Amen.

Your urgent cry has been heard, and the sorrow and pain you carry over what has been done to your skin and face, and the sense that others also have suffered, has moved our hearts to pray for you.

We do not take lightly the distress of the body, for the Lord knows our frame and sees every affliction. Yet the Word of God would lead us first to the deeper healing which the soul needs, and then to the healing of the body and the ordering of earthly wrongs according to His wisdom and justice.

There is a word that meets you in this hour, There is forgiveness with God. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is a surprising forgiveness, so free and so complete that God Himself sets it forth as a wonder. Jesus Christ bore our punishment, and God will not exact the penalty twice. If you tremble under a sense of sin and desire mercy, know that the tally is destroyed, the record nailed to the Cross, and the forgiveness given in Christ is absolute and without condition to every repenting and believing sinner, and it is an eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Before all else, seek that forgiveness for yourself, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, as a poor sinner trusting only in the blood of Christ, and you shall find peace with God.

With that forgiveness comes healing. The Scripture joins them in happy conjunction, the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity, and the inhabitant shall not say I am sick. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. Bring your wounded body and your wounded spirit to Him who is the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow. He can heal the bitterness that now fills the heart, and He can in His own way and time bring healing to the body, whether by His own hand or by the skill He gives to faithful physicians.

We must speak also of the bitterness you feel toward the one who has harmed you. It is natural to desire that wrong be exposed and that no others be hurt, and it is right to seek truth and lawful accountability through proper and orderly means. But vengeance and the cherishing of bitterness will only deepen your wound. One effect of truly feeling the bitterness of our own sin against Christ is that it takes away all bitterness against our fellow men. When we have known how much we offended God and how freely He has forgiven us, we learn to be sweet, gentle, kind, tender and forgiving toward others. We do not ask the Lord to shame a man for our satisfaction, but we leave justice in His hands, who judges righteously, and we pray that what is true may be brought to light by right means, that further harm may be prevented, and that all involved may be led to repentance and truth.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look in mercy upon this suffering one. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus, speak peace to the conscience, and let the promise There is forgiveness drive away despair. Lay Thy healing hand upon body and face, ease pain, restore what has been marred as it seems good to Thee, and guide to wise and honest help. Govern all matters of truth and justice, let what is hidden be revealed in Thy lawful way, restrain further harm, and grant to all hearts repentance where repentance is needed. Take away the root of bitterness, make Christ sweet to this soul, and teach a spirit of forgiveness even as Thou for Christ's sake hast forgiven. Keep this one from the pall of despair, and hold fast by Thy grace until healing and pardon are fully known. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.

Seek the Lord first for the forgiveness and healing that only Christ can give, commit your cause to Him who does all things well, and take orderly and lawful counsel for the bodily wrong you have suffered, trusting the Lord to do what is right.
