We join with you in bringing this deep hurt and cry for justice before the Lord and we hear the urgency and pain in your words over the suffering you and many other patients have endured. The Lord sees what has been done in secret and what has caused harm and He does not overlook injustice, for His ways are perfect and just. Deuteronomy 32:4 reminds us that He is a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is He, and Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We also want to gently bring a biblical correction to the way we seek justice. Our hearts can rightly long for what is right and for the protection of others, and Proverbs 21:15 says it is joy to the righteous to do justice, but vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. Romans 12:19 says do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We are also taught that God has established governing authorities to carry out justice on earth, for Romans 13:1 and Romans 13:4 teach that there is no authority except from God and the ruler is a servant of God to execute wrath on the wrongdoer. This means we can and should pray for true justice to be done, and also wisely use the lawful means God has provided to report harm and protect others, such as documenting what happened and bringing it to the proper medical board and legal authorities, while trusting God’s timing and will rather than demanding He act instantly according to our own terms.

We understand the desire for this doctor to be shamed and brought low, yet Scripture calls us to pray differently even for those who have harmed us. Matthew 5:44 says love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. That does not mean we excuse wrongdoing or stop seeking protection for the vulnerable, but that we pray first for conviction that leads to repentance and for righteousness to prevail. God desires that the wicked turn from his way and live as Ezekiel 33:11 shows us, and 2 Peter 3:9 says the Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We also must guard our own hearts against bitterness, because Hebrews 12:15 warns that a root of bitterness can trouble us and defile many, and Ephesians 4:31 calls us to let all bitterness and wrath and anger be put away.

So we pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we have access to You and are saved. We lift up this dear one who is hurting and all the other patients who have suffered, and we ask for Your healing and comfort upon every wound, body, mind and spirit. We ask that You would bring to light what has been hidden and that true justice would be done according to Your perfect righteousness. We pray that You would convict this doctor deeply of any wrongdoing, that You would stop any further harm, and that if there is unrepentant wrong, You would move through the proper authorities to restrain it and to protect the vulnerable, for Isaiah 1:17 calls us to seek justice, correct oppression and defend the vulnerable. We pray not from hatred but for Your will, that this man would be led to humble repentance and to accountability, and that Your name would be glorified through justice tempered with mercy. Give wisdom, strength and peace to the one who has been hurt, help them to take right and lawful steps with counsel and support, and guard their heart from vengeance and despair. Let Your justice shine like the dawn as Psalm 37:5-6 promises when we commit our way to You. We trust You to act in Your perfect time and way and we thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily, to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and to seek godly counsel and support as you pursue both healing and any necessary reporting to the proper authorities so that others may be protected. We are standing with you in prayer that the Lord will bring truth, justice, healing and even repentance where it is needed, according to His perfect will.

We hear the urgency and the pain in your words, and we are so sorry for the suffering you have carried. Being hurt in a place where you hoped for care can leave a deep wound, and it makes sense that you would long for justice and for this to stop for others as well.

When we are wronged we often feel a wide gap between what we wish would happen and what has actually happened. That gap can keep anger and hurt alive, turning over and over in our thoughts. It can help to name that anger as a signal that something mattered deeply, and to find steady ways to carry it so it does not wear you down. Deciding to release the need to settle the score yourself is different from the slower work of the heart finding peace over time, and both can happen gradually.

One steady next step could be to bring what you have experienced to one safe, trusted person who can help you sort through options, whether that is a pastor, counselor, or a patient advocate who understands how to raise a concern through the proper review channels, while you also continue to get care for your own health from a trusted provider.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this hurt before You. We ask for healing, for wisdom for each next decision, for truth to be made clear through right processes, and for Your peace to guard this heart while You work. Amen.

Your earnest cry has been heard and your pain has not been hidden from the Lord who both sees affliction and will do what is right.

The heart that has been wounded by those who should have healed is sore indeed, and it is right to bring that wound to the Great Physician. Scripture tells us that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. There is healing in Christ not only for the body but for the spirit that has been bruised by unkindness and wrong, and pardon and healing are joined together in His hand.

You ask for justice, and justice is no light thing with God. He is slow to anger, and His lictor carrieth his axe bound up in rods, for He first reproves that men may repent. Yet the Lord will by no means acquit the wicked. His justice must be vindicated, either in the atoning death of His Son for every repenting sinner, or in the righteous judgment of those who persist in wrong. Justice itself was satisfied at Calvary, where Christ bore what sinners deserved, so that God can be just and yet the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus. For those who will not turn, that same justice still demands that wrong be uncovered and accounted for.

Vengeance belongeth unto the Lord, and He has ordained lawful authorities for the protection of the vulnerable and the restraint of evil. It is therefore good and right to pray that truth be brought to light, that what has been done in secret be made manifest, that those set to govern and to oversee the practice of medicine would act with wisdom and impartiality, and that no further harm would come to you or to others. We may pray that if this man has acted unjustly, his deeds would be exposed through proper inquiry, that he would be restrained from power to harm, and that any license or position entrusted to him would be dealt with according to truth and law.

We also pray as our Lord taught us to pray, that the one who has caused suffering would be brought to conviction of sin, not merely to shame before men, but to that godly sorrow which leadeth to repentance. No convinced sinner ever rails at God's justice, but smites upon his breast and cries for mercy, and that mercy is found only in Christ.

Let us pray together.

O Lord, Thou art righteous in all Thy ways. Thou seest the suffering that has been endured and Thou knowest every wrong. We ask Thee to bring truth into the light, to guide those in authority to judge righteously, to protect the afflicted and to prevent further harm. We ask Thee to grant healing to this wounded one, to give peace to the troubled heart, to forgive sin through the blood of Jesus and to restore strength of soul and body. If it be Thy will, let justice be done on earth as it is in heaven, and grant repentance where repentance is needed, that Thy name may be glorified both in justice and in mercy. We entrust this cause to Thee, who judgest righteously and healest graciously, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Continue to seek help from those whom God has appointed for such matters, make known what has happened to proper oversight, and keep close to Christ, whose wounds are your healing and whose justice will not fail.
