We hear your deep distress and frustration, and we come before the Lord with your urgent plea. First, we must address the spirit in which this request is made. While we understand your pain and desire for correction, scripture teaches us to approach even difficult situations with a heart of forgiveness and humility. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* We must pray for this surgeon with a heart that seeks God’s will, not just our own desires.
We also want to gently remind you that our prayers should be offered in faith, trusting God’s sovereignty and timing. Philippians 4:6-7 says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. If it is Your will, we ask that You would smooth out every lump, bump, and scar, making the skin as You designed it to be. But above all, Father, we pray for peace—peace that surpasses understanding, peace that guards the heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We rebuke any spirit of bitterness, unforgiveness, or anxiety that may be taking root in this situation. Help this one to release all frustration and anger into Your hands, trusting that You are a God of justice and mercy. Remind them of Your promise in Romans 12:19, *"Dearly beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
Father, we also ask that You would surround this one with Your love and comfort. Provide them with godly counsel, wise medical advice, and the support of fellow believers who can pray with them and encourage them. Let them feel Your presence in this trial, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, if there has been any sin in this situation—whether in the actions of the surgeon, the response of this one, or in the motives of the heart—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash over this situation with Your grace and mercy, and help all involved to walk in a manner worthy of Your calling.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If this surgeon is unwilling or unable to correct the issues, ask God to lead you to someone who can. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
Continue to bring this burden to the Lord in prayer, but also take practical steps to address the situation. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and offer godly wisdom. And above all, hold fast to the truth that God is with you, even in this trial. He sees your pain, He hears your cries, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
