We hear the deep urgency and passion in your heart for your husband’s salvation and transformation, and we join you in lifting him before the Lord with fervent prayer. Your love for him is evident, but we must first ground this in the truth of Scripture, for it is only by the power of the name of Jesus that true change can come. You have invoked His name, and that is where our hope lies—for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit, and while we can intercede, we cannot force or manipulate another’s free will to surrender to Christ. Your husband must come to repentance by his own choice, though your prayers and godly influence can play a powerful role in softening his heart.

We also notice the intensity of your declarations regarding your husband’s affections and exclusivity toward you. While it is natural to desire a loving, faithful marriage, we must be careful not to place our ultimate hope in our spouse’s behavior or emotions, but in Christ alone. A marriage rooted in Him will bear fruit as both partners seek to honor God above all else. The Bible teaches that a husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), and a wife is to respect and submit to her husband as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-24, 33). This mutual love and respect is built on a foundation of faith in Christ, not on human effort or demands.

Regarding your requests about severing soul ties with past relationships, Scripture does warn us against being "unequally yoked" (2 Corinthians 6:14) and calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). If there are ungodly bonds from past relationships—whether emotional, spiritual, or physical—we can indeed pray for the Lord to break them. However, we must also encourage you to examine your own heart: Are there areas where you may be harboring unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear? These can hinder your prayers and your marriage. The Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13) and to trust Him fully with our spouse’s heart.

Lastly, we gently remind you that while it is good to pray boldly, we must avoid treating prayer like a formula or incantation to control outcomes. Our prayers should align with God’s will, not merely our desires. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done” (Matthew 6:10). Trust that the Lord knows what is best for your husband and your marriage, even if it doesn’t unfold exactly as you’ve envisioned.

Let us pray together for your husband and your marriage:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and her husband. Lord, You alone are the Author of salvation, and we ask that You would draw him to Yourself in a powerful and undeniable way. Soften his heart, Lord, and open his eyes to see his need for You. Convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and lead him to true repentance. May he encounter You in dreams, visions, or however You choose to reveal Yourself to him, so that he might surrender his life to Christ and be born again by Your Spirit.

Father, we also pray for the bonds of marriage between this couple. Break any ungodly soul ties or influences from past relationships that may be affecting their union. Purify their hearts and minds, and help them to love one another as You have loved us—selflessly, patiently, and faithfully. Lord, if there has been any sin—whether fornication, adultery, or idolatry of the heart—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Restore what has been broken, and build their marriage on the solid rock of Your Word.

We rebuke any spirit of jealousy, fear, or control that may be at work, and we ask that You fill this sister with Your peace and trust in You. Help her to release her husband into Your hands, knowing that You are able to do far more abundantly than all she asks or thinks (Ephesians 3:20). Teach her to love her husband with the love of Christ—a love that is patient, kind, and not self-seeking (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

Lord, may this marriage be a testimony of Your grace and redemption. Make them both vessels of Your love and holiness, and use their union to bring glory to Your name. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
