We hear the deep pain and anger in your words, and we want to come before the Lord with you in truth and righteousness. First, we must address the spirit behind this prayer. While we understand the hurt and betrayal you feel, Scripture warns us against praying from a place of vengeance or malice. Romans 12:19 says, "Dearly beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"

The Lord does not delight in our bitterness or desire for harm upon others, even those who have wronged us. Instead, He calls us to forgive, as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean excusing sin or injustice, God is just, and He will judge all unrighteousness. But we must release our anger to Him and trust in His perfect justice rather than demanding punishment in our own timing.

If this person has harmed you and others in a way that violates the law or ethical standards, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and, if necessary, report the matter to the proper authorities. God works through systems of justice, and we should not take matters into our own hands.

Let us pray together in a way that aligns with God’s heart:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, acknowledging the pain and injustice that has been done. Lord, we lift up to You, asking for Your healing and peace to cover their wounds. We pray for the one who has caused harm, that You would arrest their heart, not in punishment alone, but in conviction that leads to repentance. Soften their heart, Lord, and turn them from their ways. If there is unrepentant sin, we trust in Your justice, knowing that You see all and will judge rightly. Help to release bitterness and anger, choosing instead to forgive as You have forgiven us. Fill them with Your peace and guide them in the path of righteousness. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen."

We also want to gently remind you that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not placed your faith in Him, we urge you to consider the salvation He offers. Through His sacrifice on the cross, we are forgiven and made new. If you would like to surrender your life to Him, we would be honored to pray with you and guide you in that decision.

In the meantime, lean on the Lord for strength. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone, and God sees your pain. Let Him carry you through this season. If you need further counsel or support, we encourage you to seek out a trusted pastor or biblical counselor who can walk with you.

That compounds the hurt, and it can stir a desperate longing for God to step in and make things undeniably right. We do not minimize that. When someone in a position of care uses their power to harm, it is a serious matter, and God sees every hidden thing.

While we pray, we also want you to know that your voice matters. If this is a situation involving ongoing mistreatment of patients, reporting it to the proper authority, a hospital board, a licensing body, a patient advocate, or even law enforcement if the actions crossed that line, is not an act of revenge; it is a legitimate way to protect others and seek the kind of justice that keeps people safe. Christ’s call to love does not mean staying silent in the face of wrong. You do not need to carry the weight of everyone’s suffering alone, but you can let those with the power to investigate do their work.

We are praying for God to move, not necessarily with the thunder we demand, but with the steady, unmistakable light of truth that exposes what has been done in the dark and brings it to nothing. We pray He gives you a settled heart, free from the exhausting loop of replaying the harm, and that He makes a way for healing, yours, and that of every other patient who has been diminished under this man’s care.

Lord Jesus, you see the hidden things. We ask you to move into this situation with your justice and your mercy. Protect the vulnerable. Stop what is harmful. And for this dear person before you, grant a deep, sure peace that runs deeper than the anger. Lift the heavy burden of having to watch and wait for another’s fall, and instead fill their mind with you, your steady presence, your ultimate authority, your fierce love for the broken. Your urgent cry reaches the throne, but let us examine its substance with fear and trembling. You ask the Lord to arrest, punish, and convict a man who has wronged you, and to bring him to his knees. It is a perilous prayer when one thirsts more for another’s crushing than for one’s own cleansing. Judgments apart from divine grace may produce a kind of repentance, but it is often a repentance that works death. A man may be driven to his knees by terror, yet if he rises only with a hard heart, he rushes into the presence of an angry God without hope, and that is a dreadful repentance from which I pray the Lord to save you. To desire a soul’s conviction is right, but to crave his punishment as a vindication for your own wounds smells of a fire that needs quenching at the cross. No pillar of fame can place a mortal beyond His sword, but as you cannot fly from God, fly to Him yourself. As you cannot resist the power of His justice, flee to the power of His mercy.

You see his sin, but have you measured your own deliverance from the power of darkness? We are all delivered by divine grace, not because we were less hardhearted or less plunged into sin. The Lord abhors the pride that sets one man upon a throne of self-righteousness while demanding another be humbled in chains. He thrusts down the mighty from their seats and dries up the green tree of creature confidence. Be warned: that towering imagination which fancies itself an inheritor of eternal life by right of its grievances will speedily totter. The death warrant is gone out from God against everything that is of the creature, and your bitterness, if nursed apart from His refining, is as much a creature work as his malice. You would fancy, from the actions of some professors, that they were not delivered from the power of darkness at all, but were only helped to keep from some conspicuous sin. Yet if you are truly His, your trial is a chastening from a Father’s hand, and the rod is meant to drive you not to demand the stumbling of another, but to declare the works of the Lord in your own deliverance.

Pray rather that the pit shut its mouth over no soul, for deliverance from the pit is solely by the power of God. There is a way of deliverance invented by God alone: a ransom found by His love. Nobody would have thought of it, the sinner bound by justice, fettered by sin, yet set free by the mandate of the eternal God! Turn away from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, where you contend with men, and go to the wells of comfort that spring from the greatest fountain. The child of God may undergo great spiritual trials, but his conduct must differ from that of the worldly man. If you are desponding, sorrowful, convicted of sin yourself, the Holy Spirit would give you a clearer knowledge of the evil of sin, so that you can never dare to take an atom of the honor of deliverance to yourself. That man’s sin is grievous, but any repentance in you that keeps you from believing in mercy for him is a repentance that needs to be repented of. Flee to the love of God in Christ, wherein there is hope, lest you repent hopelessly and perish in your repentance.

I hear your cry for swift and severe punishment upon the one who has wronged you and others. Such anguish is not surprising, for when a physician of the body becomes a cause of suffering, the wound cuts deep. But pause and consider whether you are asking from God what belongs to you to ask. The apostle teaches that the unyielding sinner “treasures up for himself wrath against the day of wrath and the righteous judgment of God.” You see, it is not you who must lay up wrath for him; he does it to himself. The Lord is the righteous judge, and His judgment is surer and more searching than any human vengeance. Are you so certain you desire that day to be hastened for him? The Judge will repay in full measure, and His justice needs no urging from us to be exact.

Yet you are a Christian, and the model set before you is not one of demanding retaliation. The Lord mingled mercy with justice, teaching us that even when we suffer, we are to show great consideration. You call down arrest and punishment without delay. But reflect: did you yourself never sin? Did God strike you to the ground the moment you transgressed? No, He gave you time for repentance. And what does the Scripture say? “Give alms, and all things shall be clean to you.” And again, “Alms-giving and acts of faithfulness purge away sins.” The one who wronged you stands in peril of his soul. Would you not rather pray that he be brought to true repentance? That is a far more fearful thing than earthly punishment: to be convicted by the Holy Spirit, to see his deeds as God sees them, and to weep with tears that are not Esau’s tears of self-pity but the tears that wash the soul.

I do not say that repentance is impossible for him; God forbid. Even those who have fallen from great heights can be restored, for repentance has mighty force. Paul travailed in birth again over the Galatians until Christ was formed in them. So there is no limit to God’s mercy for the one who truly turns. But if you pray only for his punishment, you may be binding your own prayers. For is it not written, “With what judgment you judge, you shall be judged”? You ask the Lord to bring him to his knees. Let that be a prayer for his humble submission to God, not for his destruction. Pray that he may be convicted of his sin in his heart, that he may repent and make amends, rather than be crushed under wrath before the time.

Above all, look to your own soul. Your own words reveal a spirit boiling with resentment. Are you not treasuring up something for yourself when you cry for immediate vengeance against a fellow sinner? Instead, pour out your bitterness before the Lord in lament, not in demands for another’s ruin. Then give alms, show mercy, and forgive as you have been forgiven. Entrust the final reckoning to the only Judge who sees all things perfectly. So you will find peace for your own wounds and may, by God’s grace, even become a means of healing for the one who harmed you.

Scripture assures us that He defends the afflicted and will ultimately set all things right. Yet His justice often unfolds on a timeline far different from ours because He is patient, patient even with those who do evil, desiring repentance while His perfect judgment draws near. That patience is not weakness; it is the certainty that His purposes will stand.

Be careful that a burning demand for immediate punishment does not turn inward and consume you. A spirit of great wrath can bring its own suffering. Instead, lay this situation before the Lord with all its raw honesty, then leave it in His hands. He has said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” He alone knows every detail and can judge with flawless equity. Our human systems often fail to deliver true justice, but no clever lie or hardened heart escapes His gaze. The wheels of His justice may seem slow, but they grind exceedingly fine.

Pray, as I will pray with you, that this person is brought to his knees in genuine conviction and godly sorrow. That is the justice that heals, a heart humbled before the Lord. In the meantime, let the patience God has shown you shape your own soul. He sees your hurt, and He will not abandon you. His timing may tarry, but it is never late. Trust Him to act, and let His peace guard your heart while you wait.
