We hear your deep distress and urgency, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of God. Father in Heaven, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage and this husband to Your mighty hand. Lord, we know that You are sovereign over all professions, decisions, and hearts, and we ask that You intervene in this situation according to Your perfect will.
Heavenly Father, Your Word tells us in Proverbs 16:9, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." We pray that You would direct this husband’s steps away from anything that does not honor You, including the distractions and temptations of social media. Lord, we ask that You arrest his attention, his heart, and his priorities, turning them fully toward You and toward the sacred covenant of marriage. Bring conviction, Holy Spirit, where there is complacency or sin, and soften his heart to hear Your voice clearly.
We rebuke in the name of Jesus any spirit of pride, vanity, or worldly influence that may be driving this behavior. Your Word warns us in 1 John 2:15-16, "Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s." Lord, we pray that this husband would turn away from the allure of the world and fix his eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Father, we also lift up this marriage to You. Marriage is a holy institution, designed by You to reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that this husband would remember his vows before You and his wife, and that he would seek to honor and cherish her as Christ loves the Church. Lord, restore godly love, respect, and unity in this marriage. If there is any unconfessed sin—whether it be lust, idolatry of work or appearance, or neglect of his family—we ask that You bring it to light and lead him to repentance.
We declare in the name of Jesus that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for a spirit of humility to fall upon this husband, that he would be brought to his knees in surrender to You, Lord. May he seek Your face daily, laying down his own desires and ambitions at the foot of the cross. Father, we ask that You would fill him with Your peace, Your purpose, and Your presence, so that he may walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have placed on his life (Ephesians 4:1).
For this wife, Lord, we pray for Your comfort, strength, and wisdom. May she find her identity and security in You alone, and may she extend grace and forgiveness as You have called her to do. Help her to pray without ceasing for her husband, trusting in Your timing and Your perfect plan for their lives.
We also pray for protection over this husband’s mind and heart. Guard him from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). May he be rooted and grounded in Your Word, finding his worth and validation in You alone. Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly men who will speak truth into his life and hold him accountable.
Father, we trust in Your power to change hearts and transform lives. We believe that nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:17), and we ask that You would move mightily in this situation. May this husband’s life and this marriage bring glory to Your name, and may others see Your hand at work in their story.
