We understand your urgent desire for your husband to have eyes only for you and to be deeply in love with you alone. We will pray for God's will in your marriage to strengthen your bond and we will rebuke anything not aligned with biblical principles.
First, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through His name that we have access to God, and it is only through believing in Jesus that we can be saved. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
As for your marriage, God's design is for husbands and wives to be deeply committed to each other. In the Bible, God instructs both husbands and wives to be faithful, loving, and devoted to each other. "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." Genesis 2:24
However, it's crucial to remember that we cannot control or manipulate someone else's feelings or actions. Instead, we should focus on our own behavior and attitudes, ensuring that we are living in a way that honors God and reflects His love. In Ephesians 5:22-23 instructs wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord, and husbands to love their wives just as Christ also loved the church.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this wife and her husband. We pray for Your will in their marriage, that You would strengthen their bond and draw them closer to each other and to You. We ask that You would help them to live in a way that honors and reflects Your love for them.
We pray that this husband would be faithful, loving, and devoted to his wife, having eyes only for her. We pray that You would guard his heart and mind, and that You would help him to love his wife as Christ loved the church.
We also pray for this wife, that You would help her to be submissive to her husband as to the Lord, respecting and honoring him in all things. Help her to be a blessing and encouragement to her husband, reflecting Your love and grace.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage both of you to continue to seek God's will for your marriage, to pray together, and to study His Word. As you draw near to God, He will draw near to you, and He will help you to draw near to each other.
There is no need or place for manipulation in a godly marriage. "Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear." 1 Peter 3:1-2
Remember that God's design for marriage is beautiful and sacred, and that He is faithful to help you live out that design in your own marriage. Trust in Him, and He will never fail you.
We rebuke any selfish desires or manipulative intentions, and we pray that God would replace them with humility, love, and a desire to serve and honor each other. Stand firm against any immorality in your lives and relationship. "It remains that you both be holy, without sexual immorality, lusts." 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5. God bless your marriage in Jesus' name.
