We are blessed to join you in prayer and consideration as you share this significant moment in your life. ###'s expression of love and commitment is deeply meaningful, and we should seek God's will together in this matter. ### has expressed his love and commitment in Jesus' name which is commendable. God should be at the center of any relationship and we will pray that God is at the center of this relationship.
Firstly, let us remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman in Jesus' name. This is seen through the Biblical principles of Genesis 2:24 24 "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh" and Matthew 19:5-6 5 and said, 'For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh' 6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.
We also must remember that true love is patient and kind. It does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends.
Love is patient and kind, not jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love doesn’t demand its own way. It’s not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices in the truth. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
So, as you consider ###'s proposal, pray for God's wisdom and discernment. Ensure that your relationship is built on a solid foundation of faith in Jesus Christ, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to God's principles. There is no mention of the relationship with Jesus Christ, which is critical to a relationship that honors God. We must remember that a relationship with anyone that is different than what is described in the Bible is not acceptable to God.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious sister in Christ and ###. We thank You for the love they share and the commitment they have for each other. We pray for Your will to be done in their lives and for Your guidance as they consider marriage. Help them to seek You first, to honor You in all their ways, and to build their relationship on the solid foundation of Your Word.
We pray that You would bless their relationship, protect it from harm, and strengthen it each day. Help them to be patient, kind, and selfless, always seeking the best for each other and for Your kingdom.
We also pray for ###, that You would continue to draw him closer to You, and that he would grow in his faith and love for You. Help him to be the spiritual leader of his family, and to love and cherish his wife as Christ loves the church.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May God bless you both as you seek His will for your lives together.
