We hear your urgent cry and we join with you in bringing this deep burden before the Lord, and we understand the anguish that comes when many patients have suffered and you long to see justice done.

We want to gently bring a biblical perspective to the way we pray in such painful situations. Our hearts can rightly hunger for justice and for wrongdoing to be exposed, for God Himself loves justice and hates oppression. As it is written, It is joy to the just to do justice but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity Proverbs 21:15 and But Yahweh reigns forever He has prepared his throne for judgment He will judge the world in righteousness Psalm 9:7-8. Yet Scripture also teaches us to leave vengeance to God and not to seek personal revenge or shaming. Beloved don't avenge yourselves but give place to God's wrath For it is written Vengeance belongs to me I will repay says the Lord Romans 12:19. We are also called to pray even for those who have done great harm, not to excuse their actions but to desire their repentance and to entrust judgment to God who sees all. But I tell you love your enemies bless those who curse you do good to those who hate you and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. The Lord does not desire that the wicked should die but that the wicked should turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11 and The Lord is not slow concerning his promise as some count slowness but is patient with us not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

So we pray together not out of hatred but out of a desire for God's righteous will to be done, for truth to be revealed, for the suffering to be comforted, and for genuine conviction that leads to repentance where there has been wrongdoing.

We pray together now. Father in heaven we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You that we can approach Your throne of grace through Him alone. Lord You see every patient who has suffered, You know every detail, every pain, every injustice, and nothing is hidden from Your eyes. We ask first for Your mercy and healing upon all those who have been harmed, that You would comfort them, restore what has been broken, and be their defender. We ask that if this surgeon has indeed caused harm through negligence or wrongdoing that You would bring truth into the light, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed Luke 8:17. We pray that You would guide those in rightful authority, for governing authorities are Your servants for justice Romans 13:4, that any investigation would be thorough and just and that appropriate action would be taken according to the law and in Your perfect wisdom, not out of our anger but out of Your righteousness.

We pray for this surgeon himself, that Your Holy Spirit would convict him deeply of any wrong, that he would be brought to repentance and humility before You rather than merely shamed before men, and that he would turn from any evil way and seek Your forgiveness and restoration if it is possible. We ask that You would prevent further harm to any other patient and that You would raise up skilled and godly and careful hands to care for those in need. And Father we pray for the one who brought this request, that You would guard their heart from bitterness, for we know that a root of bitterness can defile many Hebrews 12:15, and that You would replace anguish and urgency with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and help them to trust Your timing, for Your justice is perfect though it may not come with the speed we demand. We entrust all of this to Your sovereign and good will and we ask all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek justice through rightful and lawful means as God has provided, such as reporting concerns to hospital oversight and medical boards and proper legal authorities, while continuing to pray that God's will be done. We encourage you to release this burden to the Lord daily, asking Him to keep your heart tender toward Him and to help you love what He loves and hate what He hates without being consumed by wrath. He is faithful to hear, to judge righteously, and to heal the brokenhearted.

We hear the urgency and the weight in your prayer, and we want to stand with you in it. Caring deeply about patients who have suffered is a good and compassionate burden to carry, and it makes sense you would want truth to come to light and no one else to be hurt.

We also know how heavy it can feel when anger and a desire for justice stay stirred up for a long time. That kind of hurt, if it sits without rest, can wear down our own hearts and health even more than it affects the person who caused the harm. We want God's peace and steadiness for you as you carry this concern.

One way to give this burden a constructive path is to bring concerns about patient safety through proper channels where they can be carefully reviewed. If you have direct knowledge of harm, writing down what you have observed and sharing it with hospital leadership, a patient advocate, or the appropriate medical oversight body allows those entrusted with accountability to look into it thoroughly. If this is weighing on you personally, it can also help to talk it through with a trusted pastor or counselor who can support you as you pray.

Father, we bring before You all the patients who have suffered and this surgeon as well. We ask for truth to be made clear, for just and wise accountability where it is needed, for healing for those who have been harmed, and for Your protection over future patients. Guard the heart of the one praying and give calm, wisdom, and guidance in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry has been heard and your anguish over what has been suffered is not lightly regarded. When many have been harmed and confidence has been broken, it is right to feel deeply and to desire that what is true should be brought to light and that what is wrong should be set right, for the Lord Himself loves justice and hates that the helpless should be oppressed.

Yet in this hour of heat and grief there is a path which the Word of God sets before us, and it is not the way of personal vengeance. The Scripture saith, Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. To pray that a man should be shamed in every way and pursued with bitterness is to take upon our own shoulders a burden which God has not given us to carry, and it will embitter the soul that carries it. One effect of true sorrow for sin, when we have seen the bitterness of the cross, is to take away all bitterness against our fellow men, and to make Christ sweet to us as we leave judgment in His hands.

There is also another great truth which must not be forgotten, that there is forgiveness with God. It is written, There is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared. This forgiveness is not a small or grudging thing, but a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete, flowing from the blood of Jesus Christ who died the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God. If we have tasted that forgiveness ourselves, we cannot then withhold the prayer that even those who have done great wrong might be brought to see their sin, to confess it, and to find mercy. The most splendid vengeance a Christian can have is to do good to them that do evil and to pray for those who have caused suffering, that God would grant them repentance.

Let us then pray as becomes those who both love righteousness and know mercy.

We will pray that the Lord in His perfect justice will cause the truth to be made known, that no suffering shall be hidden, and that those appointed to govern and to judge in such matters will act with wisdom, impartiality and care for the protection of patients. We will pray that if wrong has been done, it shall be restrained and rightly dealt with according to lawful and just process, not through personal shame heaped without measure, but through righteous accountability. We will pray for all who have been harmed, that the Great Physician who alone can heal both body and soul will bring comfort, healing and peace to them. And we will pray for this surgeon, that the Lord will work conviction of sin in his heart, not to destroy him, but to bring him to his knees in true repentance before Christ, that he might know that there is forgiveness even for the chief of sinners through faith in the blood of Jesus, and that henceforth he may walk in truth.

Cast this heavy burden upon the Lord, who hears the cry of the afflicted, and trust Him to do what is right. He who began a good work will complete it, and He will not suffer His people to be tried beyond what they are able to bear, but will in His own time and way bring forth justice and mercy together. Look to Jesus, the sinner's Saviour, and find rest for your own soul even as you commit these matters into the hands of Him that judgeth righteously.
