You have laid out your fears before the Lord with such urgency, and it is no small thing to come before the throne of grace with a heart so full of desperate pleas. The very fact that you are crying out, that your soul is pouring itself in these hurried, broken sentences, tells me something hopeful, you know where help is to be found. You are not sitting silent in despair; you are flinging yourself upon the God who hears. And He does hear. The ear of the Almighty is never dull, and His heart is never cold toward His children.
Think of this: the same Lord who made the skin and flesh, who knows every nerve and pore of your frame, is the One who welcomes you to call Him “Father.” He is not distant from your trouble. When you name each blemish, each mark, each spot that torments your mind, He is not wearied by the list. The One who counts the stars and calls them all by name is well able to number the concerns that keep you awake at night. Cast them all, the test, the laser, the pain you dread, the lingering imperfections, cast them all upon Him, for He cares for you with a personal, tender, unsleeping love.
You want to be made new, to have a fresh beginning for your skin, as though the old things were wiped away. Child of God, that is the very business of your Savior. Does He not make all things new? The day you first trusted Him, He touched the leprosy of your sin and made you clean in the sight of heaven, and the same hand that cleansed your soul is not too short to bring healing and restoration to your body in His own time and way. I cannot promise that every earthly ailment will vanish in the instant you command it, for our Lord sometimes teaches us a deeper dependence through waiting. But I can promise this: He who gave His own Son for you will not hold back any good thing from you. And the ultimate renovation He has prepared for you, a resurrection body without one single flaw, is so certain that you may already count it yours in Christ.
Meanwhile, do not let your soul be swallowed up by the fretfulness of the hour. Even as you plead for a negative test and for smooth, painless treatments, lay hold of the deeper rest that Jesus offers. He says to the laboring and heavy-laden heart, “Come unto me, and I will give you rest.” Not the rest of a trouble-free body, but the rest of a conscience quieted by His blood and a future sealed by His promise. Your standing before God is not written in the shifting ink of a medical report; it is engraved in the wounds of the Crucified. Let that anchor hold you steady while the waves of uncertainty roll.
Picture the Lord Jesus looking upon you right now, as He looked upon Peter after that disciple’s darkest failure. It was not a scolding look, but a glance of unutterable love that broke his heart and restored his soul. That same love is fixed upon you in your distress. He knows how weak you feel, how the dread of bad news can sap your courage. But His strength is made perfect in weakness. You may go into that appointment leaning not on your own bravery, but on the arm of the Beloved. Whether the answer comes quickly or lingers, whether the healing is gradual or sudden, you are never for a moment out of His sight or away from His care. The Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep will not abandon one of His lambs to mere chance.
Now, let me speak a word of comfort into your deepest fear. You dread the soreness, the pain, the discomfort. You ache for the removal of every disfiguring mark. Bring these very fears to the Man of Sorrows, who was acquainted with grief. He did not despise the anguish of His own body, and He will not despise yours. In Gethsemane, He prayed with loud cries and tears, and He was heard. Trust that your own cries enter the same Father’s heart, and that whether the cup of suffering is lightened or you are given grace to drink it, He will be with you in the fire. You shall not be alone in the chair of treatment; you shall not face the needle or the beam of light without the Comforter standing by your side.
So steady yourself, dear soul. Your request is not lost in the wind. The great Physician has received your case. Rest the weight of your anxieties upon Him who sustains the universe, and in doing so, you will find a quietness that passes understanding. The outcome has not yet been shown to you, but the Outcome-Giver is already holding your hand.
Let us go together to the mercy seat now, and if you cannot find the words, let my prayer carry your burden aloft.

Lord Jesus, You who touched the leper and made him clean, look upon Your child in this hour of urgent need. Calm the racing heart and still the trembling thoughts. We ask, if it be according to Your wise and tender will, that this test return with a good report, that the treatments be free from pain and complication, and that the skin be restored in a manner that testifies to Your kindness. But even more, we ask for the deep, unshakable rest that only You can give, the rest of knowing that our names are written in heaven, that our sins are blotted out, and that nothing can separate us from Your love. Overshadow this precious soul with Your peace, and let the light of Your countenance chase away the shadows of dread. You have promised, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Seal that promise upon the heart now, until faith gives way to sight. In Your almighty name, Amen.
