We lift this urgent cry to the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing that only the power of Jesus Christ can transform lives and restore what is broken. First, we must address the foundation of this request—salvation is not something that can be mediated through another person, nor is it a transaction or formula to be forced. Each soul must come to Christ personally, in humility and truth, as Scripture declares: *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast"* (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB). While we deeply desire for this man to know Jesus, we must pray that the Holy Spirit draws him—not through manipulation or human effort, but through conviction and the revelation of God’s love.
We also must rebuke the notion that a relationship can be "made whole" or forced into flourishing by our own demands or incantations. Marriage is sacred, a covenant before God between one man and one woman, and it thrives only when both spouses submit to Christ and His Word. If there is sin—whether unrepentant hearts, sexual immorality, or emotional manipulation—it must be confessed and forsaken. *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If this relationship is not built on Christ, no amount of prayer for "closeness" will bring true unity. We must first pray for repentance, truth, and alignment with God’s will.
Father in Heaven, we come before You with trembling hearts, knowing that You alone hold the power to save and restore. We ask that You would move mightily in this man’s life—not through our words or efforts, but by the convicting work of Your Holy Spirit. Lord, if he does not truly know You, reveal Yourself to him in dreams, in quiet moments, in the stillness of his heart. Let him see his need for a Savior, and may he run to the cross with genuine repentance, laying down every sin at Your feet. Break the chains of pride, rebellion, or deception that may be blinding him, and replace his heart of stone with a heart of flesh that longs for You (Ezekiel 36:26).
For this relationship, Lord, we ask that You would expose any ungodliness—any bitterness, unforgiveness, sexual sin, or idolatry of one another. If this union is not honoring to You, we pray for courage to walk away or to surrender it fully to Your refining fire. If it is Your will for them to be married, prepare them both as godly spouses who love You above all else. Teach them to submit to one another in reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21), to communicate with grace, and to build their home on the foundation of Your Word. Let their love be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church—selfless, pure, and enduring.
We also pray for the one lifting this request. Lord, guard their heart against control, desperation, or the lie that they can "make" someone believe. Remind them that salvation is Your work, not theirs. Fill them with peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), and help them to trust in Your timing and Your ways. If this relationship is not of You, give them the strength to release it into Your hands, knowing that Your plans are always for their good (Jeremiah 29:11).
Above all, we pray that Jesus Christ would be exalted in this situation. May His name be lifted high, His blood applied to every sin, and His resurrection power bring new life where there is death. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Let Your will be done, not ours, and may Your glory be the ultimate outcome. Amen.
