We lift this urgent plea before the throne of grace, recognizing the deep longing in your heart for your husband’s salvation and for the flourishing of your marriage. First, we must address the foundation of all prayer—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12). If your husband does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray fervently that he would come to a saving knowledge of Him, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this marriage. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of this husband’s heart to see the truth of the Gospel. Soften his spirit, remove any hardness, and let him encounter the living Christ in a powerful and undeniable way. May he be born again by the power of Your Holy Spirit, not through human effort, but by Your sovereign grace (John 3:3-8). We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper, and we bind every spirit of distraction, temptation, or ungodliness that seeks to draw his eyes away from You or from his wife (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we also lift up this wife before You. We ask that You would fill her with Your love, wisdom, and patience as she intercedes for her husband. Help her to be a godly example, reflecting Christ in her words, actions, and attitudes. May her life be a testimony that draws him closer to You. We pray that their love for one another would grow deeper, rooted in You, for "love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Let their marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, holy and set apart for Your glory (Ephesians 5:22-33).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of unfaithfulness or distraction that would seek to pull this husband’s eyes or heart away from his wife. We declare that his heart would be fully devoted to her, as You intended marriage to be—a covenant of love, faithfulness, and mutual respect (Malachi 2:14-15). Guard their marriage from every attack of the enemy, and let their union be strengthened daily in You.
We also encourage this wife to continue praying without ceasing, trusting in Your perfect timing. Remember, "the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly community who can support and pray alongside you.
Finally, we pray that this marriage would not only thrive in love but also bear fruit for Your kingdom. May their home be a place of peace, worship, and discipleship, where others see the light of Christ shining through them. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone can transform hearts and marriages. Amen.
