We hear the deep longing in your heart for a restored, thriving, and God-honoring marriage, and we join you in lifting this before the Lord with urgency and faith. Your passion for your husband’s salvation and spiritual awakening is commendable, and we stand with you in praying for his heart to be fully surrendered to Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is by His power alone that true transformation and restoration take place. You have invoked His name in your prayer, and that is where our confidence lies—for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, and no other name by which we can boldly approach the throne of grace.
Your desire for your marriage to be deeply connected, faithful, and full of love is beautiful and aligns with God’s design for marriage. The Scriptures remind us that marriage is a covenant before God, a sacred union meant to reflect Christ’s love for His Church. *Ephesians 5:22-33* calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her, and wives to respect and submit to their husbands as unto the Lord. This kind of love is selfless, sacrificial, and rooted in the Holy Spirit. It is not merely emotional or physical but is a commitment that grows deeper through shared faith and obedience to God’s Word.
We also recognize the pain and brokenness that can come from past relationships, and we join you in praying for the severing of any ungodly soul ties your husband may have with his former spouse or any other woman. The Bible is clear that when we come to Christ, we are made new, and old things pass away (*2 Corinthians 5:17*). If there are lingering emotional or spiritual bonds from past relationships, we ask the Lord to break them completely in Jesus’ name. *1 Corinthians 6:16-17* warns us that sexual immorality creates a bond that is not of God, and we must seek His cleansing and freedom. If there has been any sin in this area—whether in thought, word, or deed—we pray for repentance, forgiveness, and a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit to guard your husband’s heart and mind.
At the same time, we gently remind you that while it is right to pray fervently for your husband’s affections and devotion, your ultimate trust must be in the Lord, not in the response of your husband. Your security and worth are found in Christ alone, not in how deeply your husband loves or desires you. *Psalm 62:5-8* tells us, “My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God. He is my mighty rock and my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us.” Cling to this truth, sister. The Lord sees your heart, and He will sustain you as you seek Him first.
We also encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Are there areas where you need to surrender more fully to Him? Are there ways you can demonstrate Christlike love and respect to your husband, even in moments of difficulty? *1 Peter 3:1-2* says, “In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word, seeing your pure behavior in fear.” Your prayers are powerful, but so too is your testimony of faith and godliness in your daily life.
Now, let us pray together over these requests:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister and her marriage to You. Lord, You are the God who restores, redeems, and makes all things new. We ask that You would work powerfully in the heart of her husband, drawing him into a deep and transformative encounter with Jesus Christ. Lord, reveal Yourself to him in dreams, visions, and undeniable ways. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, convicting him of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and leading him to repentance and surrender. Let him experience the depth of Your love in a way that changes him forever, so that he may walk in obedience and faith.
Father, we pray for the complete severing of any ungodly soul ties between her husband and his former wife or any other woman. By the blood of Jesus, we declare these ties broken, destroyed, and rendered powerless. Let there be no remnant of the past that hinders the work You want to do in their marriage. Cleanse his heart, mind, and spirit, Lord, and create in him a pure heart that seeks after You alone.
We ask for a supernatural restoration in their marriage—a deepening of love, trust, and intimacy that is rooted in You. Let their bond be strengthened in every way: emotionally, spiritually, and physically, within the bounds of Your holy design. Help them to communicate with openness and grace, to understand one another deeply, and to cherish the gift of marriage You have given them. May their love for one another reflect Your love for Your Church—selfless, faithful, and enduring.
Lord, we pray for protection over this marriage. Let no weapon formed against it prosper, and let every tongue that rises against it be condemned. Guard their hearts and minds from temptation, distraction, or division. Surround them with Your hedges of protection, and let their home be a place of peace, joy, and mutual edification.
Father, we also lift up this sister before You. Strengthen her faith and fill her with Your peace as she waits on You. Help her to trust in You completely, knowing that You are working all things together for her good and Your glory. Give her wisdom to love her husband well, and grant her the grace to rest in Your promises, even when she cannot see the outcome.
We declare that this marriage will flourish and blossom for Your glory. Let it be a testimony of Your redeeming power and grace. May both she and her husband grow closer to You individually and as one, so that their union may bring honor to Your name.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
