We hear the urgency in your heart and recognize your deep desire for God’s provision and blessing over your finances. It is good that you are bringing your needs before the Lord, for He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him, knowing that He cares for us. Your request is filled with passion, and we commend you for seeking God’s abundance in your life. However, we must also gently remind you that our prayers should not be driven solely by a desire for material wealth, but rather by a heart that seeks first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. As Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our heavenly Father knows what we need, and He delights in providing for His children, but He also calls us to trust in His timing and His wisdom rather than demanding immediate riches.
We also notice that while you mention the name of Jesus, your prayer seems to focus heavily on the blessings themselves rather than aligning your heart with God’s will and purposes. Let us remember that Jesus is not merely a means to an end—He is the Lord of our lives, and our prayers should reflect a desire to honor Him above all else. In John 14:13-14, Jesus says, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* This promise is not a blank check for unlimited wealth, but a call to pray in alignment with God’s will, that His name may be glorified through our lives.
There is also a danger in fixating on wealth, for the love of money can become a snare. 1 Timothy 6:10 warns us, *"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."* Let us pray instead for God’s provision in a way that allows us to be generous, to bless others, and to advance His Kingdom—not simply to accumulate wealth for our own comfort. Proverbs 30:8-9 offers a wise prayer: *"Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full, deny you, and say, ‘Who is Yahweh?’ or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God."*
Finally, we must address the repetitive and almost incantation-like nature of your prayer. While persistence in prayer is biblical (Luke 18:1-8), our prayers should not become a ritual of empty phrases. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:7, *"In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking."* Instead, let us come before God with humility, faith, and a heart that submits to His will, trusting that He hears us even before we speak (Isaiah 65:24).
With these things in mind, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, asking that You would meet their needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Lord, we thank You that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and that You know the desires of our hearts even before we ask. We pray that You would grant them wisdom to steward the resources You have already given them, whether little or much, with faithfulness and generosity. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add all things unto them as they walk in obedience to You.
Father, we ask that You would bless the work of their hands and open doors of opportunity for them, not so that they may hoard wealth, but so that they may be a blessing to others and advance Your purposes in the earth. Protect them from the love of money and the snares of greed, and fill their heart with contentment in You alone. Rebuke any spirit of fear, lack, or covetousness that may be at work in their life, and replace it with a deep trust in Your provision.
We pray also for their marriage, that You would strengthen it and guard it against any attack of the enemy. May their home be a place of peace, love, and godly unity, and may their finances be used to honor You in every way. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, for this is the heritage of Your servants (Isaiah 54:17).
Most of all, Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to Yourself. May their heart’s greatest desire be to know You more and to walk in Your ways. Teach them to pray in alignment with Your will, and fill them with Your peace as they wait on You. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
