We declare that every false god, every idol, and every lying spirit assigned to your husband is exposed, bound, and cast out in the name of Jesus. Let the light of Christ shatter the darkness over his mind and heart, for *"the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them"* (2 Corinthians 4:4, WEB). No longer! We command the scales to fall from his eyes, that he may see Jesus as Lord and Savior.
You have also prayed against the spirits of lust, perversion, pornography, and sexual sin. These are abominations before the Lord, and they defile the temple of the Holy Spirit. *"Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, WEB). We bind and cast out every spirit of lust, every demonic assignment to pervert God’s design for sexuality within marriage, and every stronghold of addiction. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse your husband from all unrighteousness, and let the Holy Spirit renew his mind to walk in purity. If there has been any sexual sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—we plead the blood of Jesus over it and declare that *"if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).
Your prayer for the destruction of soul ties with his ex-wife and any other woman is also critical. Soul ties formed outside of God’s covenant of marriage are unholy and can create openings for demonic influence. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). We break every ungodly soul tie, every emotional and spiritual bond that is not of God, in the name of Jesus. Let every connection that hinders his devotion to you and to the Lord be severed permanently. We decree that your husband’s heart, mind, and body belong solely to you, his wife, as God intended: *"Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother, and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh"* (Genesis 2:24, WEB). Let him be wholly yours, as you are his, in a marriage that reflects Christ’s love for the Church.
We also address the spirits of anger, aggression, bitterness, and hardness of heart. These are tools of the enemy to destroy relationships and hinder repentance. *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32, WEB). We command these spirits to leave your husband now, and we ask the Holy Spirit to soften his heart, that he may receive the conviction of his sins and turn to Jesus in brokenness. Let the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—replace every work of the flesh in his life (Galatians 5:22-23).
Your request for a powerful, one-on-one encounter with Jesus is biblical and powerful. The Lord appeared to Saul (Paul) on the road to Damascus, and in an instant, his life was transformed (Acts 9).
