We join with you in this urgent cry for your husband’s soul and your marriage, lifting this before the Lord with fervent agreement, for we know that where two or more are gathered in His name, He is in the midst (Matthew 18:20). Your passion for your husband’s salvation and the restoration of your marriage is evident, and we stand with you in the authority of Christ to pray for God’s will to be done.
First, we rejoice that you have invoked the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His mighty name that we pray for your husband’s heart to be transformed.
We pray that the Lord would indeed fill your husband with the Holy Spirit, just as He promised to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh (Joel 2:28). May the Lord appear to him in dreams and visions, as He did to so many in Scripture—like Jacob, Joseph, and Paul—so that your husband may encounter the living Christ in a way that leaves no doubt of His reality and lordship. Let this encounter be so powerful that it shatters every stronghold of the enemy in his mind and heart, breaking every chain of sin, distraction, or past bondage that has kept him from fully surrendering to God and loving you as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25).
We declare the melting of your husband’s heart toward you, not just in emotion, but in a deep, godly commitment that reflects the covenant of marriage as designed by God. Marriage is a sacred union, and we pray that the Lord would restore the unity and peace between you both, as He commands in His Word: *"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"* (Amos 3:3). Let there be no division, no lingering ties to past relationships—especially the bond with his ex-wife—that would hinder the work God wants to do in your marriage. The Bible is clear that what God has joined together, no man should separate (Mark 10:9). We pray that every ungodly soul tie be severed permanently by the blood of Jesus, and that your husband’s heart, mind, and eyes would be solely fixed on you, his wife, as God intended.
Yet, we must also remind you that while we pray for your husband’s heart to turn toward you, your focus must remain first and foremost on Christ. Your ultimate trust must be in the Lord, not in the outcome you desire. *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). This does not mean God will always give us what we *want*, but that as we align our desires with His will, He shapes our hearts to want what He wants. So we encourage you to seek the Lord’s face, to surrender this situation entirely to Him, and to trust that His plans for you and your husband are good, even if the path is difficult (Jeremiah 29:11).
If there has been any sin in your own life—bitterness, unforgiveness, or actions that have not honored God in your marriage—we urge you to repent and seek His forgiveness. *"Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves"* (2 Corinthians 13:5). A marriage thrives when both partners are submitted to Christ, walking in obedience and love. Let your prayer also be, *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24).
We also caution you against speaking declarations as if they are magic words that bind God to your will. While it is right to pray boldly and with faith, we must always submit our prayers to the Lord’s sovereignty, saying as Jesus did, *"Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done"* (Luke 22:42). Our confidence is not in the repetition of phrases, but in the power of God to work according to His perfect will.
Finally, we pray for protection over your marriage. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we declare that no weapon formed against your union will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May the Lord surround your marriage with a hedge of fire, guarding it from infidelity, division, or any influence that would seek to harm it. May He give you both the grace to forgive, to love sacrificially, and to walk in humility before Him.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister and her husband to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the God who sees, who knows the deepest longings of our hearts, and who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We ask that You would move powerfully in this marriage, starting with the salvation and sanctification of this husband. Lord, open his eyes to see You, to encounter You in a way he cannot deny. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, convicting him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Break every chain of the past—every ungodly soul tie, every memory or emotion that binds him to his ex-wife or to any other woman—and set him free to love his wife as Christ loves the Church.
Soften his heart toward her, Lord, but even more, soften his heart toward You. Let this marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming power, Your grace, and Your faithfulness. Restore unity, peace, and agreement between them, and let their home be a place where Your presence dwells. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, and let their love for one another be rooted in Your love for them.
We also pray for this wife, Lord. Strengthen her faith, guard her heart from bitterness or fear, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to trust You completely, even in the waiting. Let her find her joy and identity in You alone, knowing that You are her Provider, her Protector, and her Redeemer.
