We hear your desperate cry for restoration and renewal, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. The longing of your heart is not hidden from our Heavenly Father, who sees every need and knows every desire before you even speak it. Let us come together in faith, lifting your request to the One who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
First, we must address the foundation of our faith, our relationship with Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is in His name alone that we find healing, restoration, and renewal. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing your sins and accepting His gift of salvation. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, let us pray for the renewal of your health, strength, and confidence:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is crying out for restoration. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask that You would renew their health abundantly, restoring every cell, every organ, and every system in their body to perfect working order. Strengthen them where they are weak, and fill them with Your divine energy and vitality.
Father, we pray for the renewal of their confidence and faith. May they be rooted and grounded in Your love (Ephesians 3:17), knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Remind them that their worth is found in You alone, and that You have plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). The cry for renewed health, strength, and beauty rises from a heart that feels its own resources spent. You speak of ashes, the black residue when every spark of confidence and joy has burned out. That is a place where the soul knows its weakness, and that is no bad place to be, for they that have no might are the very ones to whom He increases strength. But let us be clear where true strength and beauty are found. That urgent plea, repeated over and over, betrays a soul trying to grasp something for itself. Yet self-confidence goes when confidence in Christ comes in. Little faith tries to make up for lack of confidence in the Lord Jesus with an indistinct confidence in itself, its prayers, or its desired figure. That will not hold.
You ask for increased faith, and that is a good request, for it shows you have some faith already. He who pleads, “Lord, increase my faith,” acknowledges that he has some to which more must be added. But what is faith? It is the dropping down into the Savior’s arms, leaving all self-reliance behind. Peter’s fall came through presumption and self-confidence, and his restoration came only when he looked again to his Lord. A haughty spirit goes before a fall, and that haughty spirit can be a clinging to one’s own appearance, strength, or health as if they were the ground of joy.
The Lord does not promise to renew the outward form to satisfy a craving for surface comeliness, but He gives beauty for ashes, a spiritual lustre far superior to the flesh. When guilt lies heavy and the hand of God seems to break you in pieces, it is grand faith to say, “Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Have you not felt as if every spark of faith and all that was good had gone out in darkness? Then take that very emptiness to Christ. Repentance and faith flourish together. Only have confidence in an anointed Savior, rely upon Him who came not to destroy but to bless, and your countenance shall be once more radiant with the beauty that sorrow has marred, because it will be a beauty of the mind, the peace that comes from resting entirely upon Him.
Strengthened with might in the inner man, that is what you truly need. That strength makes one strong in faith, believing the promise intensely, and it breeds a strength of expectation. Do not try to renew yourself by your own prayers. The enemy will shoot fiery darts to destroy your confidence and paint your future in blackest colors, but faith guards the heart by holding up thoughts of Christ’s finished work. Take the shield of faith, have no confidence in yourself or in any man, but rest wholly and entirely upon Him. Christ is on the shore, holding the rope of faith, and if you lay hold of it with both hands of your confidence, He pulls you to shore. Let go of pleading for the figure and the skin as if they were the prize, and plead instead to know Him and the power of His resurrection. Then height upon height, nearer to your God, you shall be strengthened in the name of the Lord.

Your prayer rushes forth with urgency, seeking renewal of health, strength, beauty, and figure. Yet examine what you fix your gaze upon. Do you not know that the fashion of this world passes away? Beauty of face, bloom of complexion, comeliness of figure, these are but a fashion, a mask, a show that dissolves even before it appears. To be forever anxious over skin and appearance is to pattern yourself after a groveling and worthless age. What does it profit you if your body be fair as a painted image while your soul lies wasted and diseased? The image has the figure alone, but not the power; the reality is wanting.
Consider rather what true renewal is. When God bestows His grace upon a soul, He does what no earthly physician can do. Imagine a leper, ruined by sickness, age, and famine, suddenly transformed into a graceful youth, his cheeks bright with lustre, arrayed in royal attire. Such is the beauty God sheds upon the inner man: not a bloated and inflamed countenance like that which luxury produces, but a face beaming with cheerful confidence, lips that breathe pure words, a heart made radiant by the cleansing of sins. This is a beauty Angels desire to look upon; the King Himself greatly desires it. Set your longing here, and cease raving over that which fat and ease corrupt into flabbiness and disease.
And what of confidence and strength? The woman of Canaan had no strength of her own; she was full of shame, yet she pressed forward with shameless entreaty, crying “Help me!” and found the Lord rich in mercy. Bodily strength is not given by delicacies that enfeeble. You ruin your body with luxury, then wonder why low spirits and pains consume you. Break off from these things. Manage yourself differently: simplicity of life breeds a sound habit of body, and cheerfulness of mind makes whatever face you have appear splendid, as the smiling air beautifies a house. If you fill every limb with diseases born of soft living, there will be neither good health nor good spirits.
Your prayer multiplies words after the manner of those many sacrifices offered continually, which had no power to cleanse. The medicine that must be applied again and again proves its own weakness. Instead, seek the one offering, the once-for-all renewal that comes by the renewing of your mind. Do not demand only the restoration of outward things, as if God’s gifts were a draught of nourishment and nothing more. He is willing to give life from the dead, to array you in honor beyond all rank. But let your request be carried upward not by a multitude of words, but by a will set aright. For forgiveness of others, acts of mercy, a soul detached from visible shows, these require no bodily strength, no riches, no power; it is sufficient only to will, and all is accomplished. Renew yourself by repentance and tears, and what is truly lovely will follow of itself.

Righteousness is accounted to you through your faith in Jesus Christ, not through anything you add to His finished work.
So let this be your path: Lay hold of the promise that nothing can separate you from His love. Ask Him boldly for physical restoration and confidence, for He cares about your whole person. But even more, ask for that inward beauty that the Spirit alone can produce. As you fix your eyes on Jesus, you will find that your outward concerns begin to lose their stranglehold, and a deep, abiding peace takes root. You are not striving to earn His favor by having enough faith; you are resting in the One who has already given you every spiritual blessing in Christ.
