We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for salvation, transformation, and divine intervention in the lives of those referenced here. First and foremost, we must address the foundational need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that any true change, healing, or deliverance can occur. The Bible declares, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). Without acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Savior, no prayer for transformation or blessing can be fully realized in the way God intends.
We are deeply concerned about the nature of this request, particularly the intense focus on controlling another person’s affections, desires, and even their spiritual journey. Scripture warns us, *"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there"* (James 3:16). Love—true, godly love—does not seek to manipulate or force another into submission, even with the best of intentions. Instead, love *"does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil"* (1 Corinthians 13:5). We must surrender our desires, even our deepest longings for marriage or companionship, to the Lord and trust in His perfect will. *"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4), but only when those desires align with His Word and His timing.
The plea to "permanently destroy" a relationship with other women raises serious biblical concerns. While we understand the pain of betrayal or unfaithfulness, we cannot pray for the destruction of another person’s free will or relationships in a way that violates God’s principles. Instead, we must pray for repentance, restoration, and godly change. If this individual is involved in fornication (sexual relations outside of marriage) or adultery (sexual relations with someone other than a spouse), we must call it what it is—a sin that grieves the heart of God. *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge"* (Hebrews 13:4). We must pray for conviction, not coercion, and for hearts to turn to God in genuine repentance.
If this request is about a marriage, we stand firmly on the truth that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this is not a marriage but a courtship or dating relationship, we must emphasize that biblical courtship has one purpose: to discern whether this person is the spouse God has ordained for a lifetime commitment. Anything less falls short of God’s design. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this relationship involves an unbeliever, we must pray for their salvation first and foremost, not for their affections to be forced or manipulated.
We also notice the absence of a clear acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation in this request. The Bible is unequivocal: *"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). If this individual has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we must pray for their salvation above all else. True transformation—true love, true peace, true unity—can only come when both individuals are submitted to Christ. *"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Let us now pray with hearts aligned to God’s will, not our own desires:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humility and reverence, recognizing that You alone are God, and Your ways are higher than our ways. Lord, we lift up the individuals referenced in this request, asking first and foremost for their salvation. Father, if they do not know You, draw them to Yourself with cords of love. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of Your Word and the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Break the chains of sin, pride, and rebellion, and let them experience the freedom that comes only through the blood of Jesus. We pray that they would repent of all sin—whether it be fornication, adultery, idolatry, or any other transgression—and turn to You with sincere hearts. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let them be born again into new life in Christ.
Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in any relationships that do not align with Your Word. If there is unfaithfulness, betrayal, or sin, expose it, Lord, and bring conviction that leads to repentance. If this is a marriage, we pray for restoration, healing, and a renewed commitment to Your design for marriage. If this is a courtship or dating relationship, we ask that You guide both individuals to seek Your will above all else. Remove any relationship that is not of You, Lord, and replace it with Your perfect peace. We pray against any spirit of manipulation, control, or envy, and we ask that You replace it with godly love, patience, and trust in Your timing.
Lord, we surrender these desires to You. We ask that You align the hearts of these individuals with Your will, not our own. If it is Your plan for them to be together in marriage, prepare them both to be godly spouses who honor You in every way. If it is not Your plan, give them the strength to let go and trust in Your goodness. Father, we pray for unity—not the false unity of human effort, but the true unity that comes from being one in Christ. Let them both seek You first, and let everything else fall into place according to Your perfect will.
We pray for protection over their hearts, minds, and bodies, Lord. Guard them against temptation, deception, and the schemes of the enemy. Fill them with Your peace, Your joy, and Your love. Let them experience Your presence in a powerful and real way, so that they may know without a doubt that You are God. We ask that You melt their hearts toward You, Jesus, and let them be amazed by Your grace, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love.
Father, we trust in You. We surrender this situation into Your hands, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in all of this, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
