We understand the urgency and weight of this situation, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord, trusting in His perfect timing and sovereign will. It is clear that this has been a season of waiting and perseverance, and we commend the patience that has been shown thus far. However, we must first address that this request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we are instructed to approach the Father. It is by His name—and His name alone—that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and it is through faith in Jesus that we find salvation and the assurance that our petitions are heard. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Let us always remember that our prayers are only effective when offered in the name of Jesus, for *"no one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). If there is any uncertainty about this foundational truth, we urge you to reflect on the Gospel: that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day so that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, WEB).
Now, turning to this matter of the work visa appeal, we are reminded of the words of Jesus: *"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened"* (Matthew 7:7-8, WEB). Yet, we also know that our requests must align with God’s will, and we must trust that His plans for us are good, even when the answer is not what we hope for. The apostle Paul reminds us, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). So, we pray that this appeal would be granted if it is God’s will, but we also pray for the strength to accept His will, whatever it may be.
We also encourage you to reflect on whether this opportunity aligns with God’s calling on this individual’s life. Is this work something that honors God and allows for obedience to His Word? If so, we can pray with confidence that the Lord will open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). If there is any hesitation or conviction about the nature of this work or the environment it may place this person in, we urge you to seek the Lord’s wisdom and direction. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this urgent matter regarding the work visa appeal for ###. Lord, You know the desires of our hearts, and You understand the need for provision, stability, and opportunity. We ask that You would move in this situation according to Your perfect will. If it is Your will for this appeal to be approved, we pray that You would soften the hearts of those in authority and grant favor. Open the doors that need to be opened, Lord, and remove any obstacles that stand in the way.
But Father, we also surrender this request to You, acknowledging that Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). If this is not the path You have for ###, we pray for clarity, peace, and the strength to trust in Your plan. Help them to see that You are their Provider, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).
We pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind during this waiting period. Remove any anxiety or fear, and replace it with a deep trust in Your sovereignty. Give them wisdom to know how to proceed, and the faith to step forward in obedience to Your leading.
Lord, we also pray that ### would seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33). May their focus remain on You, and may they find their identity and security in Christ alone, not in the outcome of this appeal.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold. We declare that You, Lord, are in control, and that Your plans are for good and not for evil, to give a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter. Spend time in His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your steps. Remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are always just. Whether the answer is yes or no, He is faithful, and He will provide. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). Stay steadfast in prayer, and trust that the Lord is working, even when you cannot see it.
