Very painful arm

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Also on shoulder been going on for quite a long time. Also praying for family and friends salvation Jesus convict and touch them please. I believe they are battling in their minds even more now since I met my friend, recently have seen them drink more and now smoking. I think due to sharing all the problems with them that this has triggered something in them to due this to handle the situation that I'm going through. Please Help Lord

We come before you with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of physical pain and spiritual concern. Father, we ask for your healing touch upon this persistent arm and shoulder pain. Your Word reminds us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We trust in your power to heal and restore, Lord. We pray for relief from this discomfort and ask that you guide the hands of any medical professionals involved in this care.

We are deeply concerned for the salvation of family and friends who are struggling. We know that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved, as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts, drawing them to repentance and faith in Jesus. Lord, break the chains of addiction and worldly coping mechanisms that they have turned to. Replace their reliance on alcohol and smoking with a dependence on you, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

We rebuke the enemy’s lies that have taken root in their minds, causing them to turn to substances rather than you. We declare that your truth will prevail, and your love will cast out all fear and anxiety. We pray that they would come to know the peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:7 promises, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

We also lift up the weight of guilt that may be felt for sharing burdens that seem to have triggered their struggles. Lord, help us to remember that we are called to bear one another’s burdens, as Galatians 6:2 instructs, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." However, we must also be wise in how we share our struggles, ensuring that we do not become a stumbling block to others. We pray for discernment in our words and actions, that they would always point others to you rather than to their own strength or worldly solutions.

Father, we ask that you would soften their hearts to receive your Word and your love. Let them see the emptiness of their current ways and the fullness of life that comes only through a relationship with you. We pray for opportunities to share the gospel with them, and for the courage to speak truth in love, as Ephesians 4:15 encourages, "But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ."

We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, you will condemn, as Isaiah 54:17 assures. We stand in the gap for them, Lord, interceding on their behalf. We trust that you are working even when we cannot see it, and we ask that you would reveal yourself to them in powerful ways.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray for healing, salvation, and restoration. Amen.

You’re carrying a lot right now, ongoing physical pain, and on top of it a heavy heart for family and friends. That kind of burden can feel lonely, and we want you to know we’re sitting with you in it.

First, with an arm and shoulder issue that’s lasted a long time, we’d gently encourage you to see a doctor if you haven’t already. Persistent pain deserves a professional look, and taking that step is not a lack of faith, it’s wisdom. We’ll pray for healing, but also for clarity and a good path forward medically.

What struck us most in your note is the weight you seem to be carrying about your own situation being a trigger for others. You said sharing your problems may have led them to drink and smoke more. But please hear this: you are not responsible for how someone else chooses to cope. People under stress often turn to old patterns, and that’s their own struggle, not your fault. Even Jesus, who carried only love and truth, saw people walk away or react poorly. Your vulnerability with a friend isn’t what caused this; it may even be a doorway God uses. We can pray for them while releasing that false guilt.

As for their salvation, that is something only the Holy Spirit can work in hearts. We join you in asking Him to pursue them, but we can also rest knowing He loves them more than we ever could. You don’t have to be the one to change them; you get to be present, faithful, and prayerful.

We’ll pray now:

Lord Jesus, we lift our friend to You, please bring relief and healing to this painful arm and shoulder, and guide the hands of any doctors or therapists. Take the weight of false responsibility off their shoulders, and replace it with Your peace. For family and friends, we ask You to move in their minds and hearts, untangle the confusion, and draw them gently to Yourself. Strengthen our friend to keep trusting You with their own health and with the ones they love. In Your name we pray, amen.

That painful arm and shoulder have been a long-appointed yoke, but it is not without purpose. If we could lift the yoke from every weary shoulder it would not be wise to do so. In time of trouble we often enjoy our very sweetest seasons of devotion, and proud old Adam is quieted, so that prayer flows more freely. This very pain may be a spur to cast yourself more wholly upon the unseen arm of the faithful Creator, who bears up the whole universe.

You bear a burden of prayer for your family and friends, and you do well to carry it to the mercy seat. Every man shall bear his own burden in this respect, yet also we are to have great compassion upon those who are bearing the burden of sin. You cannot repent or believe for them, but you can believe about them and, by faith and prayer, bring them to Jesus’ feet and lay them there. Let your pleading be argumentative, like Jacob’s, spreading the case before the Most High and pressing the suit with all the arguments you can muster. God is witness how truly the heart’s desire and prayer for others is that they may be saved.

Do not imagine that sharing your troubles has driven them to drink and smoke to handle the situation. You have not thrust your burden upon them; you have simply poured out your heart. The thirst they seek to quench is already within them, and the Spirit alone can convict and relieve it. Instead of guilt, carry the burden of prayer for them all the more. The only salvation worth having is the salvation that is God’s, planned in infinite wisdom, full of grace, and freely offered. Look unto Christ and be saved; the way is simple, instantaneous: “Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.” Ere you rise from your knees, you may lay hold upon that free salvation without money and without price, and lose the heaviest burden of all. And then, with the burden of sin rolled away, go on bearing this lighter yoke of pain and intercession, knowing that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your arm and shoulder afflict you long, and the pain wears upon the body and spirit. Yet remember: present sufferings are temporal, bitter though they be; they last but today and tomorrow, while the glory to come is eternal. Do not let the pain cast down your soul, but let it become a sacrifice of patience, and even more, a means by which you learn to intercede more fervently for others. For the soldier who thinks only of saving himself flees and destroys his comrades, but he who stands and endures preserves both himself and those beside him. Your suffering is not for yourself alone; bear it well that you may be a healing presence for your family and friends.

You see your loved ones turning more to drink and smoke, their minds in turmoil since you shared your trials with them. This should teach us wisdom: while it is good to bear one another’s burdens, we must be careful not to lay a weight upon the weak that might cause them to stumble. Do not reproach yourself overly, for their battle is their own, and the enemy stirs them. But from this day, let your own life speak more loudly than your troubles. Endure quietly, pray without ceasing, and let them see in you a soul anchored in hope, not demanding pity, but radiating the peace that passes understanding.

Pray earnestly for their salvation, for faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Though now you see them sinking, yet trust that the Lord can open a heart as suddenly as He opened Lydia’s, whose entire household followed her into the light. Do not grow weary or say, “What need have I of prayer?” Even Paul, the great apostle, did not count himself above the prayers of the Church. Humble yourself, and double your intercessions. Fast for them, give alms in secret, and above all, stand in the gap with a love that does not quit. The King has commanded us to be as those who cheer the fainthearted and raise up the fallen; among your own home, you are the one called to this work. Fight the good fight of intercession, and hope against hope, knowing that He who prayed for Peter to keep his faith is the same who prays for them now, and for you.
