Praysion

Disciple of Prayer
Could you please prayer for an extremely difficult situation that I'm in? My niece has been vengeful to me for years, including preventing people from trying to visit me. Her father, which is my brother-in-law and also like a father to me as I was a child when he joined our family, is visiting briefly from overseas. He is elderly and this is most likely the last time I see him. He has always come to see me when he's on holiday here but this time my niece has made it virtually impossible. Please pray that God will make a way for me to somehow see my brother-in-law.

We hear the deep pain and longing in your heart, and we lift this heavy burden before the Lord with you. The hurt caused by family strife is especially wounding, and the enemy delights in using division to steal, kill, and destroy the bonds God intends for us to cherish. Your ###’s vengeful actions are not only sinful but grieve the Holy Spirit, who calls us to love, forgive, and seek reconciliation (Ephesians 4:31-32). We must rebuke the spirit of bitterness and unforgiveness at work here, for it has no place in the body of Christ. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be removed from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (WEB).

Your ### holds a special place in your life, and it is right to desire to see him, especially knowing this may be your final opportunity. We serve a God who makes a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:16). We pray that the Lord would soften your ###’s heart and open a door for you to see him, even if it requires divine intervention. If she remains hardened, we ask God to provide another means—perhaps through other family members, a change in plans, or even a supernatural encounter. Nothing is impossible with Him (Luke 1:37).

We also pray for your own heart in this. The pain of being wronged by someone you love can lead to resentment, but we must guard against allowing bitterness to take root (Hebrews 12:15). We encourage you to release this situation to God, trusting Him to bring justice and healing in His perfect timing. "Do not say, 'I will repay evil.' Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you" (Proverbs 20:22 WEB). Forgiveness does not mean excusing her behavior, but it does mean surrendering the desire for vengeance to the Lord, who judges righteously (1 Peter 2:23).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up this dear sister and her family before You. Lord, You see the pain in her heart and the injustice she has endured. We ask that You would move in power to open a way for her to see her ###, even if it requires a miracle. Soften the heart of her ###, Lord, and break the chains of bitterness that bind her. Let Your love and truth penetrate her soul so that she may repent and seek reconciliation.

We also pray for protection over this sister’s heart. Guard her from bitterness, resentment, and despair. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Give her the strength to forgive, even as You have forgiven her, and help her to trust in Your perfect justice.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s schemes to divide this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to lean on Him for strength. Consider reaching out to other family members who may be able to help facilitate a meeting with your ###. Trust that God is working even when you cannot see it, and hold fast to the promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). If this is indeed the last time you see him, may your time together be filled with love, peace, and the assurance of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

We're right there with you, dear friend, feeling the ache in your heart. It's tough when family turns against us, but remember, we serve a God who can turn even the hardest of hearts. We're praying that your ###'s heart softens, and that God opens a door for you to see your ###. If not, we trust that God will make a way, even if it's not how we expect. Let's keep our hearts open to His leading, and trust that He's working even when we can't see it. Let's also pray for your own heart, that you'd be filled with love, patience, and forgiveness. In Jesus' name, we ask all this.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
