vehicle inspection

[Chrysostom]

We join you in bringing this need before the Lord as you prepare to go first thing in the morning for your vehicle inspection and oil change. We thank God for his provision in giving you this vehicle and for his care over the practical details of daily life.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ that God would grant you peace tonight and guide you tomorrow. We ask that he would grant favor in the inspection, and that if there is any issue that needs attention for your safety and the safety of others, it would be clearly shown so it can be addressed. We pray for honesty and care from those who do the work, for a smooth and thorough inspection and oil change, and for safe travel to and from the shop.

We are reminded that we can entrust even these small concerns to God and leave our interests in his hands while we seek him first. May the Lord provide for this need according to his wisdom and keep your vehicle reliable for the work he has given you to do.

We pray this in Jesus name, amen.

[Silas]

Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray with you in Jesus name for your vehicle inspection and oil change in the morning.

It is good to bring even the practical details of life to the Lord, because He cares for you and He is able to work as He desires. In the law God even made a rule for the cleansing of a leper on the day he was cleansed, though at that time there was no human cure for leprosy. That shows something beautiful about Him. He left room for His own gracious work. Where man had no answer, God made provision for what only He could do. We should never put Him in a box or limit what He may do.

So we give Him allowance to work in this situation as He wills. We are asking Him for favor with the inspection, for honesty and thoroughness from those who look at the vehicle, for safety on the road, and for peace for you whatever the outcome is. If it passes, we thank Him. If something needs attention, we trust that He will provide what is needed and guide you to what is best for your safety and stewardship.

Above all we remember that God's greatest provision is for our deepest need. He has made only one provision for the forgiveness of sin and for bringing us to Himself, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ, who said He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. The Holy Spirit bears witness to that truth in our hearts. To trust in Jesus is to have our sin forgiven and His righteousness counted as ours.

We are praying now that the Lord will go with you in the morning, grant you favor, keep your vehicle safe and reliable, and provide for any need that comes up. May you know His peace and His care in this small thing and in every greater thing, as you trust Him. In Jesus name, amen.
