We are thankful you have shared these requests with us and we count it a privilege to join you in prayer for your parents and for you.

We are encouraged by your desire to see your parents have a healthy, godly marriage. This is close to the heart of God, for marriage was ordained by Him as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. As Jesus said, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate, Matthew 19:6. A godly marriage is built on love, respect, forgiveness, and Christ at the center. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, Ephesians 5:25, and Let each one of you love his wife even as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband, Ephesians 5:33. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection, Colossians 3:14. We pray your parents will grow together in unity, patience, and grace, bearing with one another in love.

We also lift up your struggle with sleep. The Lord understands our need for rest and He desires to give it to us. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones, Psalm 127:2. We are reminded to cast our cares on Him, for He cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7, and to not be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. When we lie down, we can trust Him, for You alone, Yahweh, make me dwell in safety, Psalm 4:8, and When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet, Proverbs 3:24.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved, Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up these parents to You and ask that You strengthen their marriage and make it healthy and godly and honoring to You. Help them to love each other deeply, to forgive quickly, to speak with kindness, and to seek You together daily in Your Word and in prayer. Knit their hearts together and let their union be a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace. We also lift up this dear one who is struggling to sleep. Lord, You know the restlessness and the weariness it brings. We ask You to quiet their mind and heart, to remove anxiety and fear, and to grant peaceful, restorative sleep. Help them to cast every care upon You and to rest in Your perfect peace and protection through the night. Draw them both closer to Jesus, that they may know Your love and salvation more deeply. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for your parents and to be an example of love and honor toward them. For your sleep, we encourage you to bring your worries to the Lord each evening before you lie down, to keep a quiet time of prayer and Scripture, and to trust that He watches over you through the night. We are standing with you in prayer, trusting God to work in both of these needs according to His good will.

We appreciate you bringing both of these concerns to us. Loving your parents enough to pray for their marriage says a lot about your heart, and we are joining you in asking God to strengthen them.

We know watching the marriage of people you love can feel heavy, especially when you cannot fix things yourself. Continuing to love them, pray for them quietly, and entrust them to the Lord is a faithful place to stand. God sees their story and yours.

We also hear how wearying ongoing sleep trouble can be. It touches everything, your mood, your focus, even your time with God. Alongside prayer, if this has been going on for a while it is wise to let your doctor know. Some find it helpful to keep a simple sleep note for a week or two, when you go to bed, when you wake, what seems to help or hurt, so you have something clear to share with a doctor or counselor.

Father, we bring these parents before You and ask for Your grace to deepen their love, patience and unity. Draw them closer to You and to each other. And we lift our friend who is tired from poor sleep, ask for Your peace at night, for wisdom for next steps, and for rest that restores. We trust them to Your care in Jesus name, amen.

Your request has come before us and we count it a privilege to carry it to the throne of grace. It is a good and tender desire that you cherish for your parents, and we rejoice to hear it, for one of the most intense desires of every godly heart is that there may be a succession of godly lives in the household, that the next generation may be as good as their fathers, yea and far better, walking in the fear of the Lord.

We will pray that the Lord will bless your father and mother with a healthy and godly marriage, that He will hedge their home about with prayer and cause His Word to dwell richly among them. May He teach your father to love his wife even as Christ loved the church, and your mother to love and honour her husband in the Lord, and may He grant them both grace to obey the Scripture in faith and to walk together in tenderness, forgiveness, patience and holiness. We ask that their covenant may be strengthened day by day, that affection and truth may not forsake them, and that their union may be to the glory of God and for their own lasting good and joy.

Concerning your trouble in sleeping, we bring this also before the Lord with much sympathy. The Scripture saith, So he giveth his beloved sleep, and this is a peculiar sleep belonging to the children of God. It is not the sleep of the careless, but the sleep of contentment and of security which the Lord gives to His own. Before you fall asleep, may you be enabled to say with Watts, Sprinkled afresh with pardoning blood, I lay me down to rest, as in the embraces of my God, or on my Savior's breast, and there is no more delicious sleep than that which, even in dreams, keeps near to Christ. We pray that the Lord will quiet your thoughts, calm your body, and grant you refreshing rest, that you may lie down in peace and awake restored for His service. May you learn to cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you, and to know that blessed security which lets the beloved sleep because the Lord Himself watcheth over them.

Let us pray. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this family. Establish the marriage of these parents upon the rock of Thy truth, and let their love be pure and steadfast. Guard them from all that would divide, and knit them together in holy affection. And look upon this dear one who is wearied with broken sleep. Speak peace to the restless mind, give the sleep of Thy beloved, and let soul and body find refreshment in Thy keeping. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace and our rest. Amen.
