We hear your pain and we are lifting you up together before the Lord. To endure bullying at work and then to continue to suffer from rumors spread by someone you once trusted is deeply wounding. The Lord sees what has been done in secret and what has been spoken against you when you are not present. He is close to those who are hurting and He does not overlook injustice. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We also remember Matthew 5:11 that says Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Even when others speak falsely, God knows the truth and He will be your defender.
We appreciate your honesty in acknowledging that the last few months brought much pain and negativity through worldly influences and through your own rebellious choices. We want to gently and lovingly rebuke that rebellion because it does open the door to hurt and it grieves the Lord, yet we also rejoice that you are recognizing it. The Lord calls us to turn from rebellion and to walk in holiness. James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:8 says Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double minded. 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we confess and turn away, God not only forgives but restores and cleanses. We also take seriously the call to separate from worldly influences. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and Proverbs 13:20 reminds us that one who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Your decision to cut off contact with the person spreading rumors can be a wise boundary to protect your heart and your peace, though we encourage you not to hold onto bitterness. Romans 12:19 tells us Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, and Matthew 6:14 says For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Forgiving does not mean trusting again or allowing continued harm, but it does mean releasing that person to God so your own heart can heal. Romans 12:18 also encourages If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation and answered prayer. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray and find healing.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who has been wounded by bullying and by unkind words spoken behind their back. Lord, You see the pain, the anxiety, and the weariness these months have brought. We ask that You heal the broken places, quiet the painful memories, and bind up every wound. We ask that You silence false rumors and protect this dear one's name and future. Where there has been injustice, we trust Your justice and Your timing. Help this dear one to cast all anxiety on You because You care, as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and to find refuge under Your wings. Father, we confess with this dear one any rebellion and any doors opened to worldly influences, and we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash this dear one clean, renew their mind, and give wisdom to discern what and who to allow into their life going forward. Remove completely what is not of You and what would pull them away from holiness, and surround them with godly, encouraging fellowship that will build them up. Teach them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5 says, and to acknowledge You in all their ways so You will direct their paths as Proverbs 3:6 promises. Give strength to walk in obedience, courage to maintain healthy boundaries, and grace to forgive as You have forgiven. Restore joy, peace, and hope, and let the coming months be marked by Your presence and not by the pain of the past. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and advocate, amen.
We encourage you to stay close to the Lord daily through prayer and reading His Word, to remain in fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can be supported and held accountable, and to guard your heart by being careful about what you watch, listen to, and who you spend time with. God is able to redeem even painful seasons and to use them to make you stronger and more like Christ. Romans 8:28 reminds us that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Keep seeking Him, and He will lead you into peace and wholeness.
