Thank you for sharing these burdens so honestly and for inviting us to pray with you. We have brought each of these requests before the Lord, asking Him to act according to His mercy and truth revealed in Scripture.

We pray first for your freedom. The Scriptures teach that Christ came for two great purposes, deliverance from evil and supply of good, that we might be set free from the curse of sin and be brought into adoption as sons and daughters through Him. This adoption comes as we put on Christ and receive His Spirit. Sexual addiction is not a small struggle. It brings a self chosen captivity that defiles the body which God made to be a temple of His Spirit, turning the mouth and eyes and whole person away from their holy purpose. Yet Christ is able to deliver. We pray that God would grant you true repentance, a renewed mind, and daily strength to turn from every form of sexual sin outside of marriage between one man and one woman, to flee temptation, to walk in purity, and to find accountability and wise counsel that helps you walk in holiness. For the pattern of maladaptive daydreaming, we pray that the Lord would heal the underlying wounds and reasons you mentioned, that He would ground you in reality, give you peace in the present, and teach you to set your mind on what is true and good through His Word and through faithful help.

For the African American community you carry on your heart, we join you in praying that God would set many free from false teaching and raise up faithful shepherds who preach Christ crucified and risen, who lead people truly to Him through the Gospel alone. We pray that wolves who exploit and harm would be exposed and removed and no longer able to lead people astray, and that God would protect His people from all hatred and racism, wherever it comes from. Our hope is that every person would be seen as made in the image of God and loved by Him, and that healing would come as people are reconciled first to God through Jesus and then to one another in truth and love.

For your business, we pray that the Lord would provide what you need according to His wisdom, that He would give you diligence, integrity and favor, and that the practical hurdles you face would be overcome in a way that honors Him. We pray that success would be measured not only by provision but by usefulness for good and generosity to others.

For the demonic harassment you have endured for years, we pray for the protection that belongs to those who are in Christ. The evil one is real, but Christ has triumphed over him. We pray that you would be strengthened to stand in Christ, clothed with His righteousness, rooted in Scripture, prayer and the fellowship of the church, and that the Lord would grant you rest and deliverance from oppression.

For your physical suffering with your cycle and for all women who share this condition, we pray with compassion. God does not always promise immediate removal of every affliction in this life, but He does promise to be near, to give grace to endure, and to point us to the hope of resurrection and wholeness in Christ. We pray for relief for you now, for wisdom for doctors, for comfort in body and mind, and that the Lord would in His mercy bring healing and even a cure for this condition.

For your ex, we pray as you asked, that he would come to faith in Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone. We pray for his health in the midst of serious and life threatening problems, for healing from trauma and for freedom from destructive patterns of behavior, and that God would graciously give him a wake up call that leads to repentance and a changed life. We pray also for his loved ones, for their salvation and wellbeing. And for you, as you love him yet recognize you cannot be together, we pray that God would guard your heart, give you peace, help you to maintain godly boundaries, and keep you from returning to what would harm you both. We do not ask God to bless a romantic union outside of the lifelong covenant of marriage, but we do ask Him to bless you both with holiness, wholeness and trust in His good will.

For your entire family, we pray for deliverance from every form of occult involvement. We pray that each one would renounce darkness, turn to Christ alone for forgiveness and life, and be filled with His light. For your mother and for others in your life who suffer with serious mental illness, we pray for mercy, for healing, for wise and compassionate care, and for the steady hope that Christ offers to sustain both those who suffer and those who love them.

May the Lord who bore our afflictions and who grants more than mere escape from suffering, the power to endure it with hope of a better resurrection, keep you, strengthen you, and confirm you in His love until He makes all things new. We will continue to pray for you.
