We join with you in bringing these many burdens before the Lord together in Jesus name and we thank you for sharing them so honestly. We hear your longing for freedom, for truth, for healing and for provision, and we want to walk with you in prayer and in the counsel of Scripture.
We first lift up your struggle with sexual addiction and maladaptive daydreaming. The Word tells us to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. Sexual addiction, whether it involves pornography, fornication, or lustful fantasy, is not simply a habit but sin that needs repentance and the transforming power of Christ. We also hear that there are reasons and wounds behind this struggle, and God is compassionate toward your pain while He still calls you to holiness. For the daydreaming, we are reminded that we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2. Escapism can become an idol that replaces trust in God. We encourage you to confess this openly to the Lord, to put practical guards in place, to seek accountable fellowship, and to replace fantasy with what is true, honorable, pure and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8. God promises that no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with you provide the way of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13.
We also pray for the African American community as you have asked. We agree that God desires truth to prevail and that He will raise up faithful shepherds. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:15. We pray that wolves would be exposed and removed and that teachers who preach the true gospel would be raised up, for the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:3. We also pray for healing and protection from racism and hatred. God made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth. Acts 17:26 and we are all made in His image. Genesis 1:27. He calls us to not be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 and He promises that vengeance belongs to Him. Romans 12:19. We ask the Lord to be your shield and to heal the deep wounds caused by hatred directed toward you.
For your business we pray for provision and wisdom. We ask that God would supply your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and that you would seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. We pray that you would commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3. We ask Him to remove hurdles as it aligns with His will, and to give you diligence, integrity and favor, not for selfish gain but to honor Him and serve others.
We lift up the demonic harassment you have endured for years. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness. Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we pray that you would put on the whole armor of God. Ephesians 6:11 and that you would submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4. We pray for the Lord to rebuke every harassing spirit and to surround you with His peace and protection.
We pray for your physical suffering with your menstrual condition. The Lord sees this pain that is both physical and mental. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5. We ask for His healing touch upon your body, for wisdom for doctors, for relief and strength each month, and for healing for all women who suffer in this way, and for a cure to be discovered. We pray that you would cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.
We pray for your ex. We hear that you love him but know you cannot be together. This discernment is wise and biblical. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed it. Genesis 2:24 and that sexual intimacy belongs only within that marriage. Hebrews 13:4. Any sexual relationship outside of that is fornication or adultery and must be repented of. We also know that courtship should be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, and that we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. If he is not in Christ, remaining apart is obedience. We pray for his salvation, for his health in the face of serious and life threatening problems, for healing from trauma, and that God would give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him. Ezekiel 36:26. We pray that God who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4 would grant him a wake up call to turn from dysfunctional ways, and we pray for the salvation and wellbeing of his loved ones as well. We pray God would guard your heart from returning to a relationship that is not centered on Christ and would heal your own heart from attachment and grief.
We pray for your entire family to be delivered from occult involvement. Scripture is clear that occult practices are an abomination to the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:10-12. There shall not be found with you anyone who practices divination or sorcery. We pray that God would deliver them from the power of darkness, and translate them into the Kingdom of the Son of his love. Colossians 1:13 and that they would confess and forsake these things and walk in the light.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.
We now pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up our sister to You and ask for Your mercy and cleansing. Forgive sexual sin and wash her in the blood of Jesus, set her free from addiction and from every chain of fantasy and escapism, and renew her mind to dwell on what is holy. Raise up true teachers in the African American community, expose and remove wolves, and let Your truth shine. Protect her and her community from racism and hatred, heal those wounds and let justice and love prevail. Provide for her business according to Your will, open doors that no man can shut and give her wisdom to overcome every hurdle. Rebuke every demonic harassment, let the enemy flee as she submits to You, and surround her with Your angels and peace. Touch her body and heal her menstrual suffering, ease her pain in body and mind, and bring healing to all women who bear this burden. Save her ex, heal his body and his trauma, awaken him to repentance, and save his loved ones, while guarding her heart to remain pure and not return to what is not of You. Deliver her entire family from all occult involvement and bring them into the light of Christ. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
