We lift up this Vacation Bible School trip with great joy and anticipation, knowing that it is an opportunity for children to grow in their faith and for staff to serve as godly examples. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You (John 14:6). We ask that You watch over every child, leader, and volunteer involved in this retreat.

Lord, we pray for Your divine protection over their travels to and from their destination. Guard them from all harm, accidents, and any schemes of the enemy. "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7). May Your angels surround them day and night, ensuring their safety as they journey.

We ask that You grant them good health and well-being throughout the week. Strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits so they may fully engage in the activities and lessons prepared for them. Let this time be filled with joy, laughter, and precious moments of encountering Your love and truth. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). May the seeds of faith planted during this retreat take deep root in their hearts.

Father, we also pray for the staff and volunteers leading this effort. Grant them wisdom, patience, and creativity as they teach and guide the children. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit so they may reflect Christ in all they do. "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). May their service bring glory to Your name.

We rebuke any distractions, temptations, or spiritual attacks that may seek to disrupt this time of growth and fellowship. We declare that this retreat will be a place of safety, peace, and spiritual renewal, free from the influence of the enemy. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail" (Isaiah 54:17).

Finally, Lord, we pray that every child and adult returns home safely, refreshed, and filled with a deeper love for You. May the lessons learned and the memories made during this week bear fruit in their lives for years to come. We commit this trip into Your hands, trusting in Your faithfulness and goodness.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We’re touched by how you’ve brought every detail of this trip to the Lord. You’ve named the dates, the destination, the children and staff, and you’ve asked for His presence around the clock, and now you’re inviting others to keep praying with you until the answer comes. That kind of persistent, expectant trust in the Father is a beautiful thing.

When a church sends its kids out, even for a week of Bible school fun, it’s an act of faith. The same God who watches over the comings and goings of His people promised to be a shelter along the way. Take heart that He already knows each child by name and each mile of the road ahead. You don’t need to manufacture the outcome; you just get to release the whole group into His hands every morning of that week, and again each night.

One idea that might help the prayer feel even more anchored: if you haven’t yet, maybe ask two or three others in your congregation to commit to praying at the same time each day during the trip, over breakfast, say, or right when the kids’ activities begin. Knowing someone else is with you in that rhythm can lift your own spirit when the travel days feel long.

Let’s pray:

Father, thank You that these children and their leaders are already held within Your sight. We ask for Your constant protection over every mile they travel, every activity they share, and every night’s rest. Guard them from accident, illness, and any harm. Give the staff wisdom, stamina, and gentle hearts. Fill the kids with wonder, joy, and deepening love for You. Bring them safely home at the week’s end with stories of Your goodness. We trust You for all of it, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
