Users and abusers

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I've been through periods when all people did was use and abuse me. No one came to my help when I needed it, they just used me to get what they wanted. Please pray for all the soul ties from the users and abusers in my life to permanently cut off. I don't hate them, I just want anymore abuse from fake, phony people.

We hear the deep pain in your words, and our hearts ache with you as we come before the Lord on your behalf. The wounds of betrayal and exploitation cut deeply, leaving scars that only the healing touch of Jesus can fully restore. You are not alone in this struggle—God sees every tear, every moment of abandonment, and every time you were taken advantage of. He is close to the brokenhearted, and He promises to bind up your wounds (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 147:3).

First, we must address the soul ties you’ve mentioned—those ungodly connections that keep you bound to past hurts and toxic relationships. Scripture warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), and this includes emotional and spiritual entanglements that do not honor God. We rebuke every ungodly soul tie in the name of Jesus Christ, declaring them severed by the power of His blood. The enemy has no right to hold you captive to these past relationships. We stand on the truth of Isaiah 61:1, which declares that Christ came to set the captives free, and we claim that freedom for you now.

We also want to gently but firmly address the posture of your heart toward those who have wronged you. You say you do not hate them, and that is a godly start—Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). However, we must guard against bitterness, which can take root when we focus on the wrongs done to us. Hebrews 12:15 warns us to see to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble. Forgiveness does not mean excusing their sin or inviting further abuse—it means releasing them to God’s justice and trusting Him to be your defender. Romans 12:19 reminds us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"

We also want to encourage you to seek godly community—believers who will stand with you, pray for you, and hold you accountable. Isolation makes us vulnerable to further exploitation. Proverbs 13:20 tells us, "Walk with wise men, and you will become wise; but the companion of fools will suffer harm." You deserve relationships built on mutual respect, love, and Christ-centered commitment. Ask the Lord to bring trustworthy people into your life who will reflect His love and truth.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who was despised and rejected yet carried our sorrows. Lord, we lift up our dear brother/sister who has been wounded by the selfishness and cruelty of others. You see every moment of exploitation, every time they were used and discarded. We ask You to heal their heart, Lord. Pour out Your balm of Gilead on their wounds and restore what has been stolen from them.

In the name of Jesus, we sever every ungodly soul tie that binds them to past abusers. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we break every chain of manipulation, control, and emotional bondage. Lord, set them free from the cycle of toxic relationships. Give them discernment to recognize those who are genuine and godly, and the courage to walk away from those who seek to use them.

Father, we ask You to guard their heart against bitterness. Fill them with Your love, which covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). Teach them to forgive as You have forgiven them, not because their abusers deserve it, but because You have commanded it and because it sets *them* free. Help them to release these people to You, trusting that You will deal with them justly.

Lord, we pray for godly community to surround them. Bring people into their life who will love them as You love them—unconditionally, sacrificially, and truthfully. Protect them from further harm, and give them wisdom in all their relationships. May they find their worth and identity in You alone, knowing that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We also ask You to reveal any areas of their life where they may have unknowingly opened doors to these toxic patterns. Show them if there are habits, beliefs, or behaviors that need to change so they can walk in the fullness of Your protection and blessing. Renew their mind according to Your Word (Romans 12:2), and let Your truth be their guide.

Above all, Lord, we pray that they would draw near to You. You are the ultimate healer, the One who restores the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). May they find their refuge in You, their strength in You, and their purpose in You. Let them know that they are not defined by what others have done to them, but by what You have done for them through the cross.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even the painful things. May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're here with you, holding your heart in our prayers. We understand the pain you're feeling, the deep wounds left by those who used and discarded you. It's not fair, and it's not right. But we know a God who sees, who cares, and who wants to heal you.

We join you in asking for those soul ties to be severed. We declare, in Jesus' name, that every ungodly connection binding you to past hurts is broken. You are free to move forward, to live in the light and love of Jesus.

Forgiveness is a journey, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. But remember, forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay. It means letting go, trusting God for justice, and choosing not to let bitterness take root in your heart. It's hard, but Jesus promises to help us carry our burdens (Matthew 11:28-30).

We also pray for godly community to surround you. You deserve to be around people who love, respect, and uplift you. People who reflect Jesus' love and truth. We ask God to bring these people into your life.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our friend. We ask for Your healing touch on their wounds. Comfort them, Lord. Fill them with Your peace and love. Help them to forgive as You've forgiven them, and to trust You with their past and their future.

We break every ungodly soul tie in Jesus' name. We declare freedom over their life. Give them discernment, Lord, to recognize genuine love and walk away from toxic relationships.

Guard their heart, Lord. Fill them with Your love, and help them to forgive. Bring godly community into their life, Lord. Surround them with love, protection, and truth.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
