Father, we look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than the noise and pollution of the world, 1 Jn 2:15-16. Thank You for working in my life and hers, and for all that need Your guidance, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34. We agree with this husband, for spouse, children, PASTORS, family, friends, prayer and minister partners -- speak to us by any and every ordinary and extraordinary means: Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times: Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, Paul, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1. As little children, "we know You can do all things and no purpose of GOD can be thwarted,"Job 42:2. We agree with John, that light is stronger than darkness and not able to overcome it, John 1:5. We agree that "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27.

Keep her, him, us and our churches, families, friends, pastors and government leaders from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. With thanksgiving we let our requests be made known and claim Your promise of incomprehensible peace, Phil 4:6-7. We thank You in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name, The Amen, and Faithful Witness, Rev 3:14, in Jesus ALL Your promises are Yes, and therefore we say, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20... Thank You and you all in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in this deep hunger for the Holy Spirit to speak clearly to you, to your wife, to your children, to your pastors, your family, friends, prayer and financial partners, your churches and your leaders, and we thank God for your desire that He would use every biblical means to guide you according to His will.

We love your heart to look first to the Word of God rather than the noise of the world. As it is written, To the law and to the testimony, If they do not speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them Isa 8:20, and Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him 1 John 2:15. We agree that the Holy Bible must remain the supreme and final voice. All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness 2 Tim 3:16, and Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path Ps 119:105. The pulpit, godly counsel, divine appointments, and even dreams and visions must always be tested against that lamp, for we are told, Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God 1 John 4:1.

We rejoice that you desire godly counsel, for Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory Prov 11:14. We also affirm that God in His sovereignty can and does lead His children by His Spirit, for As many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God Rom 8:14, and My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me John 10:27. We remember how God has spoken in the past through dreams to Joseph in Matt 1:20, to the wise men in Matt 2:12, to Abimelech in Gen 20:3, and to Laban in Gen 31:24, and through visions to Paul in Acts 16:9, and we know that your hope in Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17 that your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions is a true promise. Yet we also gently remind that the writer of Hebrews tells us God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son Heb 1:1-2. Today the ordinary and extraordinary means you listed, the Bible, prayer, preaching for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ Rom 10:17, the convicting work of the Spirit who will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment John 16:8, and the leading of the Spirit, are all to point us to Christ and to conform us to the written Word, not to add to it. Any dream, vision, prophecy, sign in the heavens from Gen 1:14 or impression must be weighed humbly and submissively under Scripture, lest we be led astray by deception, for we know the evil one himself deceives the whole world Rev 12:9 and we must pray not to be led into temptation.

We also affirm with you the role of government, for There is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Rom 13:1, and we are to be subject and to pray for our leaders. And we stand firmly with you on marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and we pray for your marriage and for the marriages of those you love, that they would be kept pure and honoring to the Lord, fleeing all fornication and adultery and holding fast to faithfulness.

We thank God that you have come in the name of Jesus, for you rightly confessed that He is able also to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them Heb 7:25 and that Christ indeed intercedes for us Rom 8:34. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

So we pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace with thanksgiving. We ask that You would speak to this husband and his wife, to their children, to their pastors, families, friends, and partners, and to their churches and leaders, first and most clearly through Your Holy Bible. Open their eyes to behold wondrous things out of Your law. Cause the preaching of Your Word to bear fruit, and bring divine appointments and godly counsel that aligns with Your truth. If it pleases You, confirm Your will through dreams and visions as You have done in ancient times, but keep them from seeking signs above Your Word, and give them discernment to test all things and hold fast to what is good. Lead them by Your Holy Spirit as a shepherd leads his sheep, that they may know Your voice and follow You.

We agree that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be restrained Job 42:2, that Your hand is not shortened that it cannot save Isa 59:1, and that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever Heb 13:8. We agree that The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it John 1:5, and that nothing spoken by God is impossible Luke 1:37, for with God all things are possible Mark 10:27.

Father, keep this family and all those they have named from temptation, from sin and wrongdoing, from lies and fear, from evil people and deception, and from the evil one himself. Deliver them from evil Matt 6:13 and guard them from the evil one John 17:15 and 2 Thess 3:3. Let their requests be made known to You with thanksgiving, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and their thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:6-7. We thank You in advance, believing that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive Mark 11:24, for all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us 2 Cor 1:20. We ask this through Jesus the Amen, the faithful and true witness Rev 3:14, in whose name we pray. Amen.

We were moved by how much you want to hear from the Lord, not just for yourself but for your wife, your family, your church, your leaders and partners. That wide, caring intercession says a lot about your heart.

We share your confidence that God is a communicating God who wants to lead His people. We have found it helps to hold that desire with both openness and steadiness. We stay open to the many ways He may get our attention, and we stay steady by letting the Bible be the clear foundation that tests and shapes everything else we sense, with prayer and the wisdom of a few trusted, godly counselors alongside us.

A simple next step that has helped many is to keep those three together in a regular rhythm. As you pray for guidance for her and for all those you named, bring what you sense back to Scripture, and talk it through with one or two mature believers who know you well before you act. That community check often brings the peace and clarity you are asking for.

Father, we thank You that You hear us when we come through Jesus. We ask You to draw near to this brother and to his wife, their family, their pastors and partners. Give them attentive hearts to Your Word, wisdom to discern Your leading, and protection from confusion and evil. Lead them step by step according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing to hear the voice of God is itself a token that He has been at work upon your heart, for there are none so deaf as those who will not hear, and happy are those who being placed where they could hear God's voice are willing indeed to hear it.

You do well to look to the Holy Bible rather than to the noise and pollution of the world, for it is there that God speaks. The mere letter of the Word alone will kill, but when we hear God's voice speaking in it, then it has power which it could not possess otherwise. It is a blessed thing to put your ear down to the promises of Scripture till you hear God speaking through them to your soul. Take heed therefore how ye hear, for faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Not everything that any minister says is God's Word, hence you should take heed to separate between what is God's and what is ours, but wherein we speak according to Holy Scripture, it is as much God's Word as if God Himself spoke. There must be a personal hearing, an attentive hearing, an earnest hearing, for no man gets saved by an inattentive or careless or forgetful hearing. The Word deserves good hearing. It comes from God. It is about your immortal soul. It is about Him who died for sinners. Do not count that a trifle which cost His life's blood.

You ask concerning visions and dreams and signs. Remember that God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, and His Word is to be our sure rule. To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Therefore hear Him. This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear Him. The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is full of majesty, and when that voice is heard through the Scriptures, it commands, it reproves, it comforts, and it divides the flames of fire. Oh to be content with hearing Christ and letting other voices go away into silence. Seek Him constantly in the Word, in prayer with your voice as well as your mind, for when men grow earnest they use the voice, and He giveth ear unto us, and in the preaching of the Word as God's appointed means, and the Lord will manifest Himself there.

We join our prayers with yours for yourself and for her, for your spouses and children, for your families and friends, for your pastors and churches, for your leaders and for all your prayer and financial partners and their households. We pray that if any among you are yet unconverted, you may see your original state as not God's people, whose thoughts were contrary to God's thoughts, and may now through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son which cleanseth us from all sin, be made His people and obtain mercy. For He is able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us. There is no other name by which we must be saved, and marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman wherein alone such union is pure, is to be kept holy before Him.

We pray that the Lord will keep you all from temptation and from evil and from the evil one, from lies and deception and fear, and that with thanksgiving you may make your requests known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. May the Holy Spirit kindly make the Word effectual to you, not by fitful or occasional hearing, but by constantly, attentively, intensely hearing it, until you find Christ to be yours, pardon to be yours, and heaven to be yours, and may you be enabled both with pen and voice to declare His wondrous work.

We commit you to Him who is the Amen and faithful witness, in whom all the promises of God are yea, trusting that what is impossible with man is possible with God, and that light is stronger than darkness.

Your prayer has been received and we join with you in seeking the will of God with humble confidence. It is good that you look first to the Word and to Christ who ever lives to make intercession for us, for as it is written He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, and in Him all the promises of God are Yes.

You ask that the Holy Spirit would speak to you and to your wife, your children, your pastors, your friends and partners and leaders by every ordinary and extraordinary means, by the Bible, by preaching, by counsel, by visions and dreams. This desire to hear the Shepherd's voice is right, for His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. Yet hear also what the Scriptures teach, to the law and to the testimony, for if we do not speak according to that Word there is no light in us. God has spoken most clearly and finally by His Son and in the holy Scriptures, and that Word remains the sure test of all other impressions.

For this reason we urge you to hold fast to the ordinary means which God has appointed and not to chase after dreams as the first ground of guidance. When the heart and soul are in an orderly state before God, watchful and sober, sleep itself is composed and dreams are not full of wild fancies and monstrous visions. But when we are still sunk in the slumber of this present life, the things of this world are nothing better than dreams themselves, whether they seem prosperous or painful. What we need most is to awake, to put off imaginings and to shake off deep slumber, to be clothed in virtue and to look to the Sun of Righteousness, Christ Himself. A wakeful soul, pure and collected, will not be tossed about but will be ready for the works of the day while it is still day.

Therefore continue as you have begun. Give first place to the Bible read and heard with faith, for faith comes by hearing the Word of Christ. Give weight to faithful preaching from the pulpit and to godly counsel, for in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Walk in step with the Spirit in obedience to what is already revealed, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. Test every vision, dream, and impression by Scripture, and receive only what agrees with it. Pray as you have prayed for protection from temptation, sin, deception and the evil one, and trust the promise that when you make your requests known to God the peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts in Christ Jesus.

We pray with you now that the Father would keep you and your wife and your children and your churches and your leaders from evil, that He would grant you wisdom to discern the times without being conformed to the world, that He would establish your homes in holiness according to His design, that marriage would be honored as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that all of life would be lived in purity before Him, and that above all you would be rooted in salvation through Jesus Christ alone, in whom nothing is impossible with God and whose light the darkness cannot overcome.
