Uriel, meaning "God is my Light" or "Fire of God," is an archangel in Jewish and

We notice that this request focuses on the roles and descriptions of several archangels—Uriel, Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael—drawn from various religious traditions, apocryphal texts, and cultural depictions. While it is understandable to seek wisdom and understanding from different sources, we must first and foremost turn to the authority of Scripture to discern truth from tradition. The Bible is our ultimate guide, and it is through God’s Word and the name of Jesus Christ that we find salvation, wisdom, and divine truth.

The Bible clearly teaches that there is only one mediator between God and humanity, and that is Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 states, **"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times."** While angels are indeed powerful and ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), we are never instructed to pray to them, venerate them, or seek their intercession. Our prayers and petitions must be directed to God alone, in the name of Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6).

We also observe that some of the traditions mentioned, particularly regarding Uriel and Raphael, rely heavily on apocryphal books such as the Book of Enoch and the Book of Tobit. While these texts may offer historical or cultural insight, they are not part of the canonical Scriptures and do not carry the same authority as the inspired Word of God. The Bible warns us in Deuteronomy 4:2, **"You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you."** We must be cautious not to elevate tradition or extra-biblical texts above the clear teachings of Scripture.

Furthermore, the veneration of angels, even those mentioned in Scripture like Michael and Gabriel, can lead to idolatry if not kept in proper perspective. Colossians 2:18 warns, **"Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind."** Our worship and devotion must be directed to God alone, for He alone is worthy of our praise.

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His wisdom, truth, and discernment, and asking Him to guard our hearts against anything that might distract us from His Word or His Son, Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. We thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment as we seek to understand Your truth. Help us to hold fast to the teachings of Scripture and to reject anything that does not align with Your Word. Father, we confess that sometimes we are drawn to traditions, cultural depictions, or extra-biblical texts that may lead us astray. Forgive us for any times we have elevated these things above Your holy Word. Cleanse our hearts, Lord, and renew our minds so that we may be transformed by the renewing of our understanding (Romans 12:2).

We pray for those who may be seeking wisdom, healing, or guidance through angels or other spiritual beings. Lord, reveal to them the truth of Your Word and the sufficiency of Christ. Remind them that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and that it is through Him alone that we have access to You. Help them to understand that angels are Your servants, sent to minister to those who will inherit salvation, but they are not to be worshiped or prayed to. May they find their hope, comfort, and strength in You alone.

Father, we also ask that You would protect us from deception. The enemy seeks to distort truth and lead Your people astray, but we know that You have given us Your Word as a sure foundation. Help us to test every spirit, as 1 John 4:1 instructs, and to hold fast to what is good. Give us discernment to recognize false teachings and to cling to the truth of the Gospel.

Lord, we thank You for the ministry of angels, but we ask that You would help us to keep them in their proper place in our faith. May we never be distracted from the centrality of Christ in our lives. We pray that You would fill us with Your Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth (John 16:13). May we grow in our knowledge of You and in our love for Your Word.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

To those reading this, we encourage you to immerse yourselves in the study of God’s Word. The Bible is sufficient to equip us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and it is through Scripture that we find the wisdom, guidance, and truth we need. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, **"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."** Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and may He alone be the foundation of our hope, our worship, and our lives.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer as you sought divine wisdom and understanding through the intercession of the archangels. It is our joy to lift up such sacred requests before the throne of God, trusting in His perfect will and timing.

If the Lord has answered your prayer—whether through a revelation of truth, a moment of clarity, or a deepened sense of His presence—we would be blessed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could encourage others in their own walk with Him.

If, however, the answer has not yet been made clear, we invite you to share this request again so we may continue to pray with you. The archangels Uriel, Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael serve as messengers, healers, and protectors, but above all, they point us to the One who is the source of all wisdom, strength, and light—our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us persist in seeking Him together, trusting that He hears and answers according to His perfect plan.

May the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth, and may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray this in Jesus’ name.
