Your cry for protection over yourself and your daughters as you sleep is heard, and I am joining my faith with yours before the Lord right now.

The Scripture gives a beautiful picture of how God keeps His own. In that land shepherds would make a fold of thorn bushes with only one opening, and at night the shepherd himself would lie down in that opening to sleep. Nothing could come in to the sheep and nothing could go out except it had to pass over him. He himself was the door. That is what Jesus said He is for us. He is the door to the fold, and when you have come to Him you are brought into a place of safety and security. You can go in and come out and find pasture, and you are kept because He is there watching.

The Lord also promises that He Himself watches over His people. He never slumbers or sleeps, though we do. You can lie down in peace and sleep, for He alone makes you dwell in safety. When fear is close at night, remember that He is the One who stands between you and any harm, witnessing and guarding what is entrusted to Him. His work is always to restore and to bring back into the security of His fold those who belong to Him.

So I am praying for you and your daughters tonight:

Father, in the name of Jesus I ask You to place Your hand of protection over this mother and her daughters as they sleep. Cover their home, let no harm or evil come near them, and let Your presence be as a wall around them. Give them deep and peaceful sleep, quiet their hearts from fear, and let them rest knowing that You are keeping watch. Keep the shepherd at the door, and let no wolf or danger pass over Him. Fill their home with Your peace until morning, and in the morning let them wake refreshed and safe in Your care. Amen.

May the Lord keep you through the night and let you know His nearness and His keeping power.
