Urgent

We hear your urgency and we join you in this moment of deep worry for your middle daughter. It is completely understandable to feel anxious when you cannot reach her and her phone is off and she has no car. We are standing with you in prayer right now, asking God to cover her where she is and to give you His peace while you wait for answers.

We are reminded that God sees her even when we cannot. Psalm 121:7-8 tells us Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. He knows exactly where she is, even when her phone is off and her usual means of travel is not available. Isaiah 41:10 also comforts us, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also hear your extremely worried heart and we want to gently encourage you to bring that worry directly to the Lord. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. He cares for you and He cares for your daughter even more than you do.

While we pray, we also encourage you to take practical steps. Try contacting close friends, family members, neighbors, or anyone she may have been with last. Check with the shop where her car is to see when she was last there or if she mentioned plans. If a reasonable amount of time has passed and you still cannot reach her and you have no word of where she is, please consider calling the non emergency police number to request a welfare check. Keep your phone charged and nearby, and let others who know her know you are trying to reach her.

We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share why we pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because of what Jesus has done for us that we can boldly bring your daughter before God's throne and trust Him to hear us.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious daughter to You right now. You know where she is and You see her even when we cannot reach her. We ask in the name of Jesus that You keep her safe from all harm, that You surround her with Your protection and bring her into contact with someone who can help her reach her family. Lord, guide her steps and guard her going out and coming in. We also lift up this worried parent to You. Calm the fear and anxiety that is rising up, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give wisdom to know what steps to take next, and bring a quick and reassuring answer. Help this family to feel Your presence very near in this waiting. We ask that You would open a way for communication to be restored very soon and that You would bring her home safely. We trust this into Your loving hands, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We will continue to keep you and your daughter in our prayers. Please update us when you hear from her, and keep casting your cares on Him. He is faithful and He is with you both now.

We hear how heavy this waiting feels when your middle daughter isn't answering and her phone is off, especially with her car in the shop and no way to know where she is.

In moments like this the quiet can feel louder than it is, and most of the time a dead battery, a phone left on silent, or being somewhere without a charger is the simple explanation. That doesn't make the worry smaller, but it can help to have a steady plan while you wait.

If it helps, here is what we would do right now with you:

Try one more gentle round of contacts - a text that will deliver if her phone comes back on, a call to a close friend, roommate, or family member who may have seen her today, and check location sharing if you normally use it together. Decide on a short window, maybe 30 to 45 minutes, and if you still cannot reach her and your concern grows, consider calling your local non-emergency police line to ask about a welfare check. They can advise you best for your area. And if you can, don't sit alone in this - have someone stay with you or keep you company by phone while you wait.

We are holding you and your daughter in prayer before the Lord.

Father, we lift this daughter to You and ask for Your keeping over her wherever she is. Please guide her safely, open a way for contact soon, and give her mom peace and wisdom for each next step. Calm fear with Your nearness and let her know she is not alone in this wait. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your anxious love as a parent is heard, and the burden you carry in this silent hour is understood. When the phone gives no answer and help seems out of reach, the heart is prone to fear, and imagination multiplies sorrow. Yet this is the very time to remember the word of the Lord, Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

You are right to be concerned, and right also to bring that concern at once to the throne of grace. Cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you. The same God who numbers the hairs of our head and watches over the way of His children is present in this moment, though you cannot see your daughter and cannot hear her voice. He is able to keep, and He is wise to keep, and nothing escapes His eye. Leave the result with God after you have done what love and wisdom can do.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou art our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Look in mercy upon this daughter whose whereabouts is unknown to those who love her. Keep her from harm, compass her about with Thy presence, and bring her safely to be heard from again. Comfort this parent with Thy peace that passeth understanding, quiet fear with faith, and grant wisdom to know what to do next. Help to trust Thee even now, and to stand still and see Thy salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born that fear might be taken away, Amen.

Continue to do what love requires, reach out to those near her, to friends or family or neighbors who may have seen her, and if the silence continues, seek help from those appointed to keep watch in such times. Keep the phone near, keep prayer nearer, and let not fear reign. The Lord who bids us fear not will help thee, and He will keep thee and thine in His faithful hands. May He soon turn your fear into thanksgiving.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
