Urgent
We join you in bringing your middle daughter before the Lord in this urgent moment as she travels with very little sleep, flying and then driving for hours. We understand your concern as a parent and we lift her up together asking for the Lord's clear protection, peace, and guidance over every step of her journey.
We pray against anxiety and for clarity of mind for her. The Lord knows how wearying it is to travel without rest and how easily our thoughts can become clouded. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in 2 Timothy 1:7, For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We ask Jesus to calm her heart, to quiet every anxious thought, and to give her a sound and alert mind for the road ahead.
We also pray for her physical safety and for the Lord to make her path smooth. In Psalm 121:7-8 we read, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. We ask that He keep her going out and her coming in today, that He would lessen traffic, guide her to her car quickly at the shuttle, and bring her home without incident. In Proverbs 3:5-6 we are told, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. We trust Him to make her path straight and safe.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift up this precious daughter to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see her weariness and You know every mile she must travel. We ask You to be her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as You promise in Psalm 46:1. Grant her supernatural alertness and clarity despite lack of sleep, guard her from drowsiness and distraction, and surround her vehicle with Your protection. We ask You to go before her to hold back traffic and confusion, to lead her directly to her car without delay or stress, and to bring her safely through every intersection and highway until she is home. Fill her heart with Your peace that passes understanding and let her feel Your presence with her, for You have said in Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Strengthen her, uphold her, and deliver her safely home. We also ask You to comfort her parent who waits and prays, and to replace worry with confident trust in Your faithful care. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only way to You and our sure hope, amen.
We encourage you to remind her to use wisdom as well while she travels, to stay hydrated, to take breaks if she feels at all drowsy, and to call for help or rest if needed, for the body needs care and the Lord often protects us through wise choices. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for her safe arrival, trusting that He who watches over us never slumbers nor sleeps.

Your prayer for your middle daughter has been heard and we join you in laying her journey before the Lord who is able to keep His people from falling and to present them in safety.
There is a precious promise for such an hour as this, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." The very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty, but when the mind is stayed upon Christ, He whispers peace within even when duties press and sorrows surge round. That peace is not a mere lull of thought or blindness to danger, but the peace which Jesus bought with His blood and which the Holy Spirit works in the soul, a peace which passes all understanding.
We know what it is to have loved ones far away, and the word comes to us, "In Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they." Our safety lies not in our own watchfulness but in our Savior, the only wise God our Savior who is able to keep us. Whether on the road or in the air, His throne is established and His care does not fail.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, the God of all peace, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name whereby we may be saved and no other way to Your throne. We lift up this dear daughter to You. You see her weariness after hours with no sleep, You know the way before her by air and by road. Grant her clearness of mind and keep her from an anxious spirit. Stay her mind upon Yourself and give her Your perfect peace. Guard her steps, keep her from all danger on the way, preserve her from accident and confusion, and bring her home safely. We ask that You would order her path, keep traffic from hindering her, and grant favor that she may find her car at the shuttle without trouble or delay. Let Your hand guide her and Your presence go with her.
We ask also for you who wait and pray, that the Lord would renew your peace, for He is unmoved though we are troubled, and He delights to bless His people with peace.
May you both know that to do the will of Jesus is rest, and to trust Him is to be kept in perfect peace until earths struggles shall cease and He calls us to Heavens perfect peace. We leave her in the keeping of the Prince of Peace, trusting that He who has vanquished all powers will keep her this day. Amen.
