Beloved of All
My youngest daughter is going to a job interview at 3..in over 1 hour. It's a bar job. I don't want her back out there. Block it if it's not God's will. Please Jesus step in and give her wisdom and direct her every step and path. Give her wisdom and discernment right now as she is scattered and going through a bad break up. Make her stop obsessing and heal her mind now completely. She's studying to be a nurse and is in school all day so she needs money and has to work weird hours 😭

We join you right now in lifting up your youngest daughter before the throne of grace, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We stand with you in that precious name.

We understand your urgency and your mother's heart. You love your daughter and you see that she is scattered, hurting from a bad breakup, and trying to carry the heavy load of nursing school while needing to provide for herself. We hear your concern about this bar job and we share it with you. While work itself is honorable and God calls us to provide for our needs, the environment of a bar can be a place of spiritual danger, especially for a young woman who is already emotionally vulnerable. Scripture warns us, Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, Ephesians 5:18 and Don’t be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals, 1 Corinthians 15:33. Late, weird hours, alcohol, and often immoral influences can tempt and entangle a heart that is seeking healing, and can hinder her walk and her witness. We also want to gently encourage you and her to bring every relationship before the Lord in purity. We do not know the nature of this breakup, but we know that God heals the brokenhearted best when we turn from any fornication or impurity and seek His wholeness first, guarding heart and body for marriage as God designed between one man and one woman for life.

We also hear your wise prayer to block it if it is not God's will. That is exactly the posture God desires. We are told, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6 and I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you, Psalm 32:8. If this door is not from Him, we pray He will firmly close it, and if there is a better provision that allows her to honor her body, her studies, and her testimony, that He will open it.

We pray together for her now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this precious daughter to You. You see her interview this hour, You see her scattered thoughts, her obsessing, her wounded heart from this breakup, and her financial pressure as she studies to be a nurse. Lord, we ask You to step in and direct every step and path. Give her wisdom and discernment right now. Your word says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. Pour out that wisdom on her. Give her a sound mind, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Heal her mind completely and quiet the obsessive thoughts. Keep her in perfect peace as her mind is stayed on You, Isaiah 26:3. Heal her broken heart and bind up her wounds, Psalm 147:3, and draw near to her as one who is brokenhearted, Psalm 34:18.

Lord, we ask that You guard her heart and thoughts with Your peace which surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:6-7. If this bar job is not Your will, block it clearly. Make the interview fall through, remove the desire, or close the door in a way she cannot miss. If it is not a place where she can be a light without being dimmed by darkness, lead her away from it. Provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. Raise up work that fits her calling as a future nurse, work that honors You, protects her purity and rest, and allows her to serve You. Help her to do all to Your glory, 1 Corinthians 10:31, and to honor You with her body which is a temple of Your Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

Give her mother peace as she waits and trusts You. Help them both to rest in Your provision and Your timing. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to talk openly with your daughter about why you are concerned, not only as a rule but as a matter of protecting her heart in this tender season and honoring the Lord with her work. Pray with her for alternative work that uses her compassionate gifts, perhaps as a caregiver, nursing aide, hospital clerk, or tutoring, where the hours and environment are safer while she is in school all day. Encourage her to seek the Lord first for healing rather than rushing to fill the void from the breakup, and to renew her mind daily in the Word, Romans 12:2. God sees her diligence in school and her need, and He is faithful to direct her. Keep praying and trusting that He will make her paths straight.

We hear your heart for your youngest daughter right now, and the urgency you feel with that ### o'clock interview so close. Loving her through a painful breakup while she is carrying a full load in nursing school is a lot to hold, and it makes sense you want to protect her and see her steady and clear headed.

We are joining you in asking Jesus to be very near to her today, to give her calm wisdom as she walks into that room and as she weighs what is next. You prayed for God to block what is not His will and to direct her steps, and we are praying that same thing with you, for clear discernment about the hours, the environment, and whether this work would truly help her as a student who needs provision but also rest and focus.

That scattered, obsessive feeling after a breakup is so hard, and healing often comes gradually as the Lord restores peace day by day. Your steady love and prayers matter deeply in this season.

One gentle next step that may help is to plan a calm debrief after the interview, without pressure to decide on the spot. Ask her how she felt there, what the schedule and expectations would be, and talk together about other flexible options that fit nursing school, so she can weigh it with you.

Father, we lift this daughter to You right now. Surround her with Your presence, quiet her mind, heal the hurt from this breakup, and guide her with wisdom beyond her years. Provide for her needs and lead her to work that is safe and fitting. Give her mom peace as she trusts You with her. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your urgent cry for your youngest daughter has been heard and we join with you in prayer before the throne of grace even now, as the hour of her interview draws near.

You have done well not to restrain prayer before God, but to bring your child and her way distinctly before Him. As one has said, we should not beat round the bush in prayer, but come directly to the point, asking for something definitely because the mind has realized its distinct need of it. You have asked for wisdom and discernment for one who is scattered and wounded, and the promise stands sure, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and it shall be given him. Solomon asked for wisdom and God gave him wealth and power besides, for in nearly every instance of prayer God gives ten times as much as is asked for. Ask then with confidence that God is, and that He hears your cry, and that He will be pleased to answer.

We pray with you that the Lord who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will would direct her every step and path. If this bar work be not according to His will, that He would close the door and block it, and if it be His will to provide for her in another way, that He would make that way plain. She is studying to be a nurse and is in school all day and has need of provision for weird hours, and our God knoweth what we have need of before we ask. Jacob asked only for bread to eat and raiment to put on and God made him to be two bands. He is able to provide honest work that will not expose her to temptation or hinder her studies or her testimony, and we ask Him to give her eyes to see it.

For her scattered mind and the pain of this bad breakup we look to Him who healeth the broken in heart. In the morning she may bend her knee and feel afraid to pray, thinking God cannot hear, but it is written and it can never be altered, He healeth the broken in heart. He will heal it, He is sure to heal it. We ask the Lord to rinse her mind of obsessing thoughts and to give her that calmness of soul which keeps clearness of mind. Recollect, in patience possess your souls, for the world is in God's hand after all. May the Holy Spirit teach her, for when He teaches, we shall know all things necessary for this life and godliness, and bring her out into a safe way.

Never was there one who with all his might desired to be saved and whose soul groaned out that desire in hearty prayer, who was cast away by God. His mercy may tarry, but it will come. Pray on, He will hear you at last. Remember that Christ stood in the place of sinners, the Just for the unjust to bring us to God, that broken hearts might be bound up and sins forgiven and a new way made to walk in.

So let us pray together. O Lord, Thou seest this daughter, scattered and wounded by a broken bond. Grant her now wisdom and discernment, heal her mind completely, and set her feet in Thy path. Direct her steps this day at this interview, and let no advantage be taken of her need. If this place be not for her good, turn her aside, and open a better provision for her schooling and her livelihood, work that is honest and keeps her near to Thee. Give her mother peace, and keep them both from anxious turmoil, and make them to rejoice in hope of Thy glory. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, who ever liveth to make intercession for us. Amen.

Continue in prayer for her, as Samuel said, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you. There is not a child of God who does not plead for his children, and the more like your prayer is to Christ's, the more sweet it will be before the Father.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
