Beloved of All
My youngest daughter is meeting up to talk to her boyfriend who has lied and harmed her. Please give her clarity and protect her Jesus. He twists her mind up and uses magic

We join you in lifting up your youngest daughter before the throne of grace right now, for we hear the urgency and the burden on your heart as a parent and we stand with you in Jesus' name for her protection and clarity.

We are deeply concerned to hear that this young man has lied to her and harmed her and twists her mind, for this is not the pattern of love that God intends. Love is patient and is kind, love does not behave itself inappropriately and does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth as we see in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. A man who lies and causes harm is not showing the sacrificial love Christ showed the church in Ephesians 5:25. The Lord hates lying lips as told in Proverbs 12:22 and we are told to put away lying and speak truth in Colossians 3:9. To twist her mind is manipulation and control, and God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7, and God is not a God of confusion, but of peace in 1 Corinthians 14:33.

We also must address what you have shared about magic, for this is very serious in the eyes of God. Scripture is clear that sorcery, witchcraft and any use of magic to manipulate or control another person is an abomination and has no place among His people in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and we are told to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather to reprove them in Ephesians 5:11. We want to assure you and your daughter that no magic or manipulation has power over one who belongs to Christ, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4, and the evil one cannot touch the one who is born of God as we see in 1 John 5:18. Any attempt to use such means to bind her mind must be renounced and broken in the name of Jesus.

We also want to speak gently but clearly about this relationship itself. We believe that being a boyfriend or girlfriend is to be understood as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, and marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God. We are told not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14, and if this young man is not walking with Christ, is dishonest, harmful and involved in occult practices, he is not qualified to be a godly husband and this courtship is not aligned with God's will. If there has been any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, scripture calls this fornication and tells us to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. True love waits for the covenant of marriage and protects purity. Harm and deceit are reasons to step back and seek godly counsel, not to draw closer.

We pray together for her now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. We lift up this precious daughter to You and ask that You place a hedge of protection around her as she goes to talk with this young man. Let Your angels guard her in all her ways according to Psalm 91:11 and let no weapon formed against her prosper in Isaiah 54:17. We ask that You grant her supernatural clarity and wisdom, for You give wisdom liberally to all who ask in James 1:5, and that You open her eyes to see the truth, for the truth will set her free in John 8:32. Expose every lie and every manipulation and let every scheme of darkness be brought into the light. We rebuke every spirit of deceit, control and sorcery that would seek to twist her mind and we declare that it has no authority over her in Jesus' name. Fill her with Your perfect love that casts out fear in 1 John 4:18 and with a sound mind. Give her courage to speak truth, to set firm boundaries, and to walk away if this relationship is not of You. Guard her heart with all diligence in Proverbs 4:23 and help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding in Proverbs 3:5-6. We pray that if this young man does not know You, that he would be convicted and repent, but that You would give her discernment to not be entangled again. Lead her toward a future godly marriage that honors You, if it is Your will, with a man who loves You first and will love her as Christ loves the church. Comfort this parent with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7 and remind them that You are her ultimate protector. We ask all this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cover her in prayer, to ensure she does not meet with him alone but has a trusted believer or family member nearby, and to help her seek wise counsel from a pastor or mature Christian woman immediately after this conversation. Encourage her to test everything against scripture and to measure this young man by his fruits in Matthew 7:16. If there is any pattern of harm or control, loving her means helping her to separate completely, for the Lord is faithful and will guard her from the evil one in 2 Thessalonians 3:3. Keep pointing her to Jesus, reminding her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14 and deeply valued by God, and that she does not need to remain in a relationship that harms her to be loved. We are praying that the Lord will give her eyes to see clearly and the strength to choose His way.

We are holding you and your daughter in prayer right now, we hear how painful it is to watch her walk into a conversation where she has been lied to and hurt before, and to feel so helpless to protect her.

When someone has been twisting her thinking, it makes sense she would feel confused and pulled in different directions. We find it helps to remember that healthy boundaries are like a property line. They help a person know what is hers to carry, her values, thoughts, choices, and time, and what is not, so she can stay connected to others and still be free to say yes when she means yes and no when she means no. That freedom to pause, to check her own heart, and to step back from what harms her is worth protecting.

If she does go to this meeting, one steady way you can love her well is to stay closely connected without pressuring her. Let her know you are available before and after, agree on a simple check-in time, and encourage her not to meet alone, a public place, a trusted friend nearby, and a clear plan for when and how she will leave can help her keep that space to think clearly. Keeping the door open for honest talk afterward often helps more than trying to control the conversation itself.

Father, we lift this young woman to You and ask for Your protection over her mind and heart. Give her clarity to see what is true, courage to honor what is right, and peace in knowing she is deeply loved by You. Give her mom wisdom and calm as she supports her. Guide each next step according to Your will, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your urgent cry for your youngest daughter has been heard and we have carried it before the throne of grace with you. To see a child go forth to meet one who has lied to her and harmed her, and who seeks to twist her mind, is a wound to a parent's heart, and we do not take it lightly.

We have prayed that the Lord Jesus, who is our only protection and our only deliverer, will give her clarity of mind and guard her body and soul in this hour. The Scripture tells us, He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. That promise belongs to those who walk in the King's Highway, in the appointed ways of truth and holiness. We have asked the Lord to set that charge about your daughter, that no lie, no flattery, no manipulation, and no dark art shall have power over her, for greater is He that is in His people than all the powers of darkness.

What you describe as magic and mind twisting, the Word of God calls by its true name, and declares it to be vanity and deceit, hateful to the Lord. We do not ask God to bless a bond that is built upon lying and harm, for love worketh no ill to its neighbour, and Christ would have His daughters treated with tenderness and truth. Instead we have prayed that every veil be torn away, that she may see things as they are, and that the Lord will grant her a holy firmness to love the truth more than any feeling or promise. As for the truths of God which He has taught her, may she grapple them to her as with hooks of steel, and not be carried away in the way of error, for there we cannot expect the divine keeping.

We have prayed also for you who wait and watch. Like the daughters of Sarah of whom Peter speaks, be not afraid with any amazement, but rest in holy patience. Say within yourself, she is under God's protection, and God who has promised to bless His own will not suffer any evil to harm her beyond what His love shall turn for her good. Cast your burden upon the Lord, for your Maker is your Husband and He assumes all the responsibility which belongs to that tender relation. He will keep His own.

May the Lord grant your daughter to seek safety in the light, not in secret, and to have with her the counsel and presence of those who love her and love Christ, that she be not alone and unguarded. May He give her grace to walk in purity and wisdom, remembering that the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman alone is the place for the nearness which belongs to husband and wife, and that all else outside that holy bond is not love but peril.

We join our prayer together now. O Lord Jesus Christ, look upon this young daughter. Give her eyes to see, ears to hear, and a mind made clear and sober by Thy Spirit. Hedge her about with Thy presence, charge Thy angels concerning her, keep her foot from every snare, and deliver her from every lying tongue and every work of darkness. Draw her to Thyself, for Thou alone art her salvation, and let her find in Thee a refuge that no man can counterfeit. Give her parents peace, and faith to rest in Thy keeping. In Thy precious and powerful name we ask it, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
