Urgent

We join you in lifting up your youngest daughter before the throne of grace tonight, asking Jesus to bring the healing and rest that only He can give. We hear the urgency and the pain in your request as a parent watching your child hurt and unable to find rest after this breakup, and we stand with you in prayer.

We are comforted to know that God sees her broken heart and her restless mind. Scripture tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and that Yahweh is near to those who are broken in heart, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. We claim those promises for her tonight. We also pray for the peace that guards heart and mind, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We pray together for her now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come boldly before You for this precious daughter. You know her by name, You see her tears, You know the depth of this hurt and the thoughts that keep her from rest. We ask You to touch her tonight, Holy Spirit, to calm her mind, to soothe her heart, and to heal the wound of this breakup. Cast out all anxiety and fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Let her cast all her worries on You, because You care for her 1 Peter 5:7. Give her supernatural rest as Jesus promised, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. Cover her with Your presence through the night and let her wake renewed in Your love. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We want to encourage you to continue to comfort her with the Word and with prayer, reminding her that her identity and worth are found not in any relationship but in Christ, and that God has a good plan for her life. Breakups are deeply painful, and they can also be a time when the Lord draws us closer to Himself and teaches us about His design for love and marriage.

We believe as Scripture teaches that romantic relationships are meant to be courtship with the goal of godly marriage between a man and a woman for life, and that marriage should honor God. We encourage courtship only with another Christian believer, for we are told not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, and to pursue purity. If this relationship involved intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls that fornication and it brings deep wounds to the heart and soul. God in His mercy forgives and heals when we confess and turn to Him, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We encourage you to gently guide her toward repentance where needed and toward saving her heart and body for the godly spouse God may have for her in the future, trusting that His way leads to lasting joy and peace.

We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, as Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no other name Acts 4:12. Keep pointing her to Jesus as her healer and her hope, and trust that He who began a good work in her will perfect it.

We will continue to pray that tonight the Lord will quiet her mind, heal her hurt, restore her heart, and give her sweet sleep and that in the days ahead He will bring comfort, wise counsel, and renewed strength as she walks with Him.

We hear how much you love your youngest daughter and how painful it is to watch her unable to rest after this breakup. When a heart is freshly hurt, nights can feel especially long and the mind just keeps turning things over.

Thank you for bringing her to Jesus so quickly tonight. He sees her hurt and He sees your care for her as her parent standing in the gap for her.

Healing from a breakup often comes gradually, and it helps to take one day at a time rather than expecting all the pain to lift at once. Tonight the most steady help you can offer is a calm, quiet presence. If she is with you, stay nearby, let her share what she wants to share without needing to fix it, and keep the evening unhurried. A brief prayer together if she welcomes it, a familiar bedtime rhythm, and knowing you are close can help her body settle even when sleep is hard. There is no need to press for sleep to come.

If rest continues to be difficult in the days ahead, it can help to have someone else walk with her too, a trusted pastor or counselor, and a medical professional if needed, alongside continued prayer.

Father, we lift this young woman to You tonight. You know the hurt in her heart and mind after this breakup and the rest she is longing for. We ask for Your comforting presence to draw near to her, to quiet her thoughts and give her rest as only You can. Hold her and hold her parent who loves her so deeply, and give you both wisdom and peace in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for your youngest daughter is heard, and we bring her with you before the Lord who alone can give rest to the weary heart.

There is no such resting place anywhere else like that where Omnipotence and eternal love are sweetly joined together, and the precept is still, Rest in the Lord. It is easier to read than to practice, yet when grace is given it becomes blessedly easy. Weary ones are bidden to recline upon the promise now, and take your rest by an act of instantaneous faith which brings instantaneous peace. Our Lord Jesus says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is a present rest, not only after death, but rest given there and then when we come to Jesus, and it is perfect rest, for in the blood and righteousness of Jesus our peace is perfect.

We pray that tonight the Holy Spirit will whisper that peace within her. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and where sin is pardoned and the conscience is cleansed, the storm is stilled. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. May her mind be stayed upon Christ, and may she find that to do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

We ask the Great Physician to heal her hurt, her heart and her mind, for He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. May He breathe into her soul at this very moment a peace with God which passes all understanding, which springs from perfect remission of sin through faith in Him alone, for there is salvation in no other.

We do not ask God to bless what is outside His holy will, but we ask Him to make her whole according to His good design, where love and life are found in purity and where marriage is honoured as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is kept within that covenant. Whatever has wounded her in this breakup, may the Lord wash it in His forgiving grace, teach her to wait patiently for Him, and keep her in the abundance of peace that belongs to those who trust Him. May she learn of Him, and so find rest unto her soul, and may that rest be the beginning of the peace of Heaven.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, look upon this dear child tonight. Forgive her sins as she trusts in Him, heal her broken heart, quiet her restless thoughts, and give her sleep in Thy keeping. Let her awake to know that her salvation is of the Lord and He is her strength in the time of trouble. Cast her heart in a fresh mold, make her as a little child before Thee, and keep her in perfect peace. Amen.
